Default Crashed my baby....

I was out tonight and it snowed while I was hanging out with the guys... On my way home I was going down a hill and there was an SUV in front of me and a light, the light turned red and the SUV stopped and I....I tried to stop, but I slid for about 40 ft right into him..... . I'm lost right now, I can't grasp what has just happened.. This is the first accident I've ever been in....

I'm located in St. Charles MO and I was wondering if anybody here knows some good repair shops around here, I want her to get treated by the best.

I've been a lurker around here for some time, not the finest first post.

Sorry to hear about your mishap. This is the reason why I'll NEVER drive my Vette in the snow. If snow is forecast the truck goes instead !

Sorry to hear. Not from the area so i can't help with a body shop suggestion. Did you try posting in the Great Lakes section? Just for future reference, if your going to drive the car in cold temps you have to keep in mind that if your running a summer type tire, they get rock hard in the cold and get no grip! The snow did nothing to help you either. Good luck and hope its back on the road soon!

Just posted!

Thank you guys for the kind words, it's making me feel a bit better about the whole thing. I'll update this thread as the situation progresses, possibly some before and after pics at the end of this mess.

I will post some, but they won't be very high quality... The only camera I have is on my phone, and my phone's camera isn't the greatest.

Very sorry. That is awful. It would have been much worse if there were injuries though. Hopefully you can get her fixed as though it never happened!

First and foremost- glad you're OK . . heck of a way to start the year!

How bad is the car - -were you able to drive her home or was damage too severe ?

You might try contacting a couple of Corvette clubs in the region and see if they can suggest a good bodyshop.

It happens. Hell, I smashed my first vette up just due to the cold roads, a little sand and going to fast. Snow is even worse. I cheap beater is a good investment so you dont have to drive those crappy days in the snow.
