Default Coilovers Pros - Cons

I am wanting to install some coilovers on my 99 FRC for their height adjust-ability. I am also hoping to improve handling and ride quality. I am wondering also about the effect on resale in the future + or -. Curious to hear from those of you who have or have had coilovers on your C5 and your experience with them. I won't be tracking the car, but might participate in an auto-x sometime in the future. I am looking at a set of first gen Pfadt coilovers.

I installed the Pfadt featherlights.

Objectively; If you are going to autox or road course race the car I definitely recommend coilovers. If you are primarily using the car for street use, coilovers can be overkill.

Subjectively; its cool to brag that you have them.

I have little to no intention to autoX my C5, and wanted coil overs due to what i perceived as a superior suspension setup - I was not disappointed.
LG GT2's
The ride difference is amazing, I haven't fully dialed them in however am VERY impressed with the ride and overall handling.

I have the Pfadt featherlights as well. Car is smoother when set to loose than stock. Obviously gets way tighter too for fun days. It's nice to have adjustability, but remember, alignment changes whenever you make an adjustment to height. So pick your height and dial in the suspension as far as corner balancing if you're going to go that far, then get the aliment. Otherwise you will need another one each time.

I am installing Stance coilovers in the spring, I want to get rid of the leaf springs as the ride quality sucks with them IMO.

They are priced much cheaper than LGs and Pfadt!

I wonder how much of the ride difference (on street) comes just from the better shocks... When I installed Koni FSDs and C6 Z51 sways the ride improved, I should say, to modern levels. About the same difference as I got from better tires.

Is there someone here who's had premium shocks and then switched to premium coil overs?

I went from bilsteins to the featherlights. The ride was changed noticeably. I didnt feel much of anything when I put the bisteins on from stock.

You can adjust height with your stock springs now, unless you want to go lower then GM planned. I would start with C6 Z06 shocks and bigger sway bars.

Since I sold the race Corvette with all the suspension upgrades, I brag that I'm almost as fast in a stocker with only a sway bar change.

I have similar experiences with Bilsteins on other cars. The Konis are dual valved and soft while being firm if that makes any sense. I haven't really had any truly expensive shocks but the Konis are by far the best I have experienced. Probably too soft in rebound for track though.
