Great picture! The fact they are both red with black wheels is a real eye catcher!
As cool as the C7 is (and I do want one), what amazes me more is how the 17 year old designed C5 looks so good next to it. Many non-Corvette owners or enthusiasts probably don't realize the age difference as the Corvette is timeless.

One thing that was unique about the C5 is that it didn't have styling cues or clichés that date it to a particular era. It wasn't festooned with goofy wings, fake scoops or other garbage. It's shaped like a proper sports car with performance to match, unlike some "sports cars" that have mundane sedan mechanicals and performance underneath.
I'm not a huge fan of the appearance of the C7. Years from now it will be recognizably a product of its era because many of its styling flourishes look like they could be on any number of other contemporary cars from Nissans to Lexuses. At least they got the performance right.

The C5 still has looks that make people stop and stare and they can't believe even the newest one is 10 years old. But I really like what they have done with the C7. Seems like they have stepped up their game and made a worthy successor to the C5 and C6.
I like both. Different but you can still see that they are related.
I'm not all that crazy about the C7, but they are a real bang for the buck ! Nothing on the road can match the 2014 Corvette performance for what they cost. And I see the ZO6 will be out next year, I'll bet that is even a step up from it is now. The C7 is awesome !
The C5 is a much "cleaner" looking car- especially in the hood area. The addition of visible headlights and a big hole in the hood really breaks up any continuity on the C7.

Hadn't really noticed it until Vetjazz's post. I saw, and got to sit in, a C7 while at the LA Auto show. If I had the money, I would definitely like to add one to my garage though.
