Default Good winter car?

Right now my c5 is my only car, so I need to get a winter car. Can't drive it in snow and don't want to drive it in the rain really. So I'm looking to keep it GM. I don't like SUV's so they are out of question. Don't want anything new, but I still want my car to look nice. Anybody have a good recommendation I can look into?

Get an all wheel drive Equinox. I've had 2 of them over time. One was the first generation Equinox, then I got a second generation one. Both of them great vehicles.

KIA not GM but cheap. Not like you will be driving it each and ever day. Plus can put a sticker on it my other car is a corvette.

With no budget listed, it's hard to help.

I personally would choose a slightly used Gallardo. I may adjust my recommendation after knowing the budget.

The chevy malibu is a great car, my son has a 2010
and loves it. Very reliable and good looks too. Good gas
mileage as well with the 4 cylinder and the six

Paid $2200 for it after crashing my C4 on ice. '92 Silverado 2500, awesome truck and will run as long as my C5

<edit> I wanted an extra cab, but this truck was cherry.

How about a used Subaru Outback? I have a 2011 that has been awesome. They are made in Indiana if that helps any.

so hang on? you want a winter car? not a winter suv or winter truck?

you also provided no price point

at $2000 the 90s jeep XJ cherokee is the best buy, and or a 4x4 silverado or f150

at $5000 more options open and at $10,000 more still

i overlooked the "keep it gm" comment since no reasonable person would be such a brand slave

I know it's not GM but the later model Taurus's 97-03 are great cars, really good in the snow.

Thought I posted a price, I would look into other options but if I can keep it American made I will.

Americans don't make any good winter cars unless you want a huge *** barge or a truck. My daily driver is an Audi allroad:

Gorgeous interior with heated seats front and rear, heated steering wheel, heated autodimming mirrors, xenon lights, good stock stereo, 73 ft^3 of cargo space with seats down, 37" rear legroom with seats up, real 50/50 AWD, 250 hp stock and 300-350 hp with just an ECU tune which brings 0-60 time under 6 seconds, available in both ZF auto with manual mode or an actual 6-speed manual transmission, and 5000 lb towing capacity with height-adjustable self-leveling air suspension.

I paid $6000 for it.

Decent on gas, all wheel drive, relatively inexpensive to buy, and parts are also cheap to maintain

P.S.
This includes forester, and legacy

I had to replace my subaru forester last year after a bad accident and got a simple low mile 2002 accord. Great on gas and like you said very low maintenance!

You can get a Chevy S10 with 4WD for a decent price, a little more for the ZR-2 package. 1998-2003. An extremely capable truck in all terrains.

Another Subaru fan here. I have an Outback wagon and a Baja. Outback is a 2000 with 130K miles - neither my wife nor I drive it as a DD anymore but it is a great backup for my wife or kids to drive in nasty weather and for hauling the dogs. Love '03 Baja DD (would love it even more with the H6). Go anywhere, anytime reliability. I will always have a Subaru (but the 'Vette will always get the garage).

You might find the Impreza, WRX, or CrossTrek a little more interesting/exciting. BRZ is awesome, but it's RWD.
