whast with all the grief?
Shaved door handles have been around for ages, and people have been dealing with them for decades -- they add a nice look to the car. Not for me , but OP isn't asking an absurd question.
I've seen kits -- not for the c5 -- that include a small 12v battery that has enough juice to operate the solenoids once or twice if the car battery dies. Other kits have an option to default to unlocking the door if the voltages go below a certain level. There are other ways to deal with it, I'm sure.

The C5 sure looks sweet done this way

I am looking for solutions for C2 specifically at this time
not expecting a kit

even by making new threads about a year ago
not found anything substantial and workable in over a year of searching

where to mount the solenoids?

I’ve heard 5” below the latch
Heard welding on a tab to uncertain latch lever area to then bend a rod to pull on latch
cant find space for the glass to drop with solenoid 5” below the latch

Ive heard by vent window
not sure how a cable gets routed, lots of moving parts-glass, glass mechanism etc.

I tried making a bracket and pulleys to pull forward off the inner release lever, that binds up
and cable binds to pulleys due to slight angle changes, the more you add, the harder the solenoid has to pull

Ratrod type forums with old cars having tons of space to do this don’t seem to address specifically the C2

I'm not aware of any kits. You might have to adapt a generic kit or have something custom done.

Shaved handles really do add to the look of the vehicle IMO.

That is one of the sickest C5's I've seen. Looks like it's gonna destroy anything in its path! Love it.

Most custom shaved vehicles have a hidden wire/post or whatever to apply power. Some use the trailer hitch wiring. These things have already been contingency planned by the designers.
