I went with C6 Spyders because I like them best. I tend to think C7 styles are just not as right for a C5 as the C6 wheels. See below for what I did. Can't stand chrome

Were those C6 OEMs? Was it plug and play or did you have to fiddle with anything to get them to fit?

Love the wheels.

I know I'm in the vast minority here, and I certainly don't mean to offend anyone who has them, but I've just never cared for the looks of any of the thinner spoked wheels. They show way to much of the ugly/dirty stuff behind the wheels. I guess that's why I prefer the chrome wagon wheels...their wider spokes cover up more of that ugly stuff...

Definitely requires more work to keep "the ugly/dirty stuff behind the wheels" clean, but the end result is truly worth it...IMHO...I think that should be one of the "Ten Commandments" of owning a Vette...

I guess to me the wagon wheels represent the "rally wheels" of the C5...kind of like the rally wheels that came on the late 60s and early 70s Chevys....they just don't look right to me without them...

I feel like the C6 wheels work better on the C5.

Love the wheels.
Plug and Play. I got them from West Coast Corvettes. They are reproductions, and I fact checked as much as I could to determine that they are of equal quality to the OEM wheels.

I liked that I could get these wheels in the same size as the factory chrome because my Michelin Pilot Sports fit.

Yes that makes sense. I want larger wheels just because, but don't want to spring for them until I have wrung most of the miles out of my current tires, which to my great annoyance just won't quit. 30,000 miles and still going strong.

if you're looking to get black wheels its extremely difficult to visually see any difference from 17/18" to 18/19". Really it's just bragging rights, if that even means anything.

I'm looking for polished or chrome, not black. Does that make a difference in your view?

I thought about going one size larger, but that also meant the wheels and tires cost more up front as well as in the future with respect to tires. It also potentially adds more unsprung weight. To me, it wasn't worth the small visual aspect.

I suppose with chrome it will be more noticeable. But is it worth it to you to have lower profile tires to allow for larger rims, and thereby introduce a bit more road noise and a bit rougher ride? If it is, then by all means go for it. I think Vettes look great with the factory size, and I think they look great with larger rims as log as they're tasteful and not too extreme. But you've got to do what works for you.

I would search the internet for pictures of C5s with aftermarket rims, narrow it down to what you love most, and then pull the trigger.

I have C7 Z06 wheels size 19x10 +56 off set on the fronts and 20x12 + 56 off set on the rears and they work great and I believe they look great but I'll let you be the judge, good luck.

That looks great. I am looking into doing the same on my z06. Are those repo wheels or OEM? What size tires are you running?
