I have a 2001 C5 Coupe and of course it is in black. I have purchased two covers for the winter time and it never seems to fail they both scratch the rear fenders and roof. What covers are you guys using? I found a flannel cover on Ecklers. Any other ideas. I'm tired of paying $200 for a cover that scratches.

Either the cover or the car are not clean when it's put on. Car covers should not scratch the paint.
Do you store the car inside or out. In the winter my car is inside with the cover on. It is removed very seldom. In the spring I take it of and leave it of. The covers will scratch the more you put on and take off. I have a noah cover that is great inside or out, But it to will leave fine scratches the more you fuss with it. There are some polishes that will remove fine scratches. We all know rule #1 no cover on a dirty car

I keep the car in the garage when not driving it, but I do keep a cover on it. I use one I got from West Coast Corvettes right after I bought the car four years ago - it is called Intro-Guard (or something like that). Never had any problems with it scratching the paint. The problem with a black car is it shows every little scratch.
