I just cannot imagine, anyone having a Z06 and driving fast or over the speed limit, for that matter.. That is not cool! I've had all the bolt on modifications done to my engine.. The guy that did all the engine work, warned me that the car would be much faster than a stock Z06.. I've taken his advice and actually had him reset the rev- limiter to 4000 rpms... I'm proud of my decesion.. It keeps me out of trouble.
thats a great idea. i need to do that to mine. I drive mine like im running from the cops. every mini van and 4 door honda gets blown away! just kidding i daily drive mine and drive it like im 90. it gets better mpg that way.
I get on it quite frequently. But its all about knowing when and where. There is a big difference between punching it when you have some open road and weaving in and out of rush hour traffic.
If I didn't want a fast car I wouldn't have moded it, and if you don't use it how do you know if it is fast? If your not going to use it why do it? Mine is a DD, I did the mods to use them not brag about what I have but won't use. That said, there is a time and place for everything... Just sayin.
Hey, I USED to be a ba, does that count??? Hahaha.
I've yet to go over 130mph in my lowly Z16. But...that's going to change as the 416 is being slid in this week. Never got to 170mph with it in the 02 camaro, but that's only because I never could find a road long enough...er, ah...a race track long enough. Yeah, that's what I meant.
Be sensible in order to spare the innocent children and old folks out there.
I do, however, keep my 04 loaded with a Magnusun hollow point for the punks and wanna-be punks.
I drive mine pretty relaxed for the most part, not really any faster than I do in the wife's Sonata Hybrid (quicker, yes, but not faster). Generally speaking, I'll go 5-9mph over the speed limit, depending on the road.
I went 148 in my Z28 back in the day, 140 in a Charger, just under 130 in my 6.2 Silverado... but my two current vehicles, the Z06 and the SV650, have never exceeded 115mph.
I don't usually drive the Z06 hard because the clutch pedal gets all weird... but now that I broke fourth gear, I will be installing all new goodies to make sure I can launch and shift her as hard as I've been wanting to
