Don't worry about the guns, your elected officials are doing everything they can to break the supreme law of the land and illegally take that right away from you.

First, let me say that I don't agree with the law. There are many laws in this country that I consider a waste of time, but that doesn't give me the right to pick and choose which ones I think I should obey or disregard.

What I don't agree with are people (myself included) who blatantly thumb there nose at a law that they deem insignificant or trivial, and then complain about it. If you choose not to display a front license plate, at some point you may pay the consequences. I can call it a waste of time, tax collecting, put the blame on someone else, etc., etc., but at the end of the day I created the problem, not the police officer.

They can have fun trying to do that in Texas. We not only have concealed carry laws, we also have the right to open carry.

And the police officer chose to waste his time and yours by enforcing a BS regulation. How about some consistency? I've NEVER had front plates in my state that requires them. I live less than 4 blocks from a police station. Either I'm a criminal or I'm not. If they aren't pulling me over it's because A) they are too lazy or B) they have more important matters to deal with. Thus, if they pull you over it's because of A or B and that is an indicator that we need to trim some government fat. Yes, we created the problem by allowing our government to grow too big. It's a simple case of the parasite killing the host plain and simple.

With that being said, I will pay the fine as I know I am in the "wrong", but I certainly won't put a smiley face on the check I send in. But it doesn't change the fact that it's a waste of the finite resource known as the tax dollar. Unfortunately, we live in a socialist country so we can all look forward to the creation and enforcement of BS regulations created solely for the express purpose of tax collection and wealth redistribution.

You probably guessed I'm not a socialist or democrat. LOL

We're working on the open carry stuff here too Ed.... We've already got the right to open carry or concealed carry with the proper license. The state govt is now looking at passing a new law here in Oklahoma that would permit all law-abiding citizens over the age of 18 to open carry a loaded or unloaded gun without a license in the state of Oklahoma. Good chance it will pass too. Senate Bill 1473 simply says Oklahomans can carry firearms in all the places currently allowed by law, but they will no longer be required to obtain a license to do so.

And, for the OP, we don't have front plates in Oklahoma either... From what I've read (at least in our southern neighbor Texas), it's a money grab lobby thing by the plate manufacturer in Texas.

Live in PA, only requires back license plate, drive to New Jersey which requires front and back license plates. Could they stop me for that alleged infraction? Could they stop me in other states?

What I find extremely amusing is that the horrific abuse of Corvette owners by police officers and the unnecessary waste of taxpayer's dollars could be remedied forever with two screws and a screwdriver. Can you imagine that? No more posts on this forum about police harassment for something so trivial? Wait! That might be asking too much. That would be one less self-created problem that we'd have to bitch and whine about.

You probably guessed I'm not a socialist or a democrat either. I'm just an old guy with a high school education that was raised to take responsibility for my actions, and not to blame others for problems I created.

The state of Ohio requires two plates and one of the main reasons is because the police say the front plates help them indentify cars who plates are on a wanted list. But just yesterday I seen a police car that had two cameras on the back of the car that were positioned to read cars going the same way and the opposite way of the police car. So why are they saying they need the front plates?

They'd make more off of a driver texting while driving than for no front plate.

I think the best way to get rid of them in the left wing states is MMGW. The reason all the new cars and trucks do not have a place for them is aerodynamics. They wind tunnel test them and do fuel economy tests without them. Then they come up with hang on brackets for them. They do reduce fuel economy. How can they not. A flat bumpy piece of metal in front of an aerodynamic shape. Not a lot but if you believe in MMGW then every little bit makes a difference. Front plates are bad for the environment and waste fuel adding to our need to buy it from people who hate us. It would make as much of a difference as low tires or having your windows down. And .GOV says we need to be careful about that.

Not necessarily......I live in NY, a 2-plate state, but I haven't run a front plate on any of my cars since 1985.

The BS in this country today is created by adults (key word) who knowingly (another key word) make decisions that impact their lives, and then blame someone else for their woes. There's a very simple solution to this problem and we (myself included) all know what it is.

For me the solution is simple, I won't use front plates and I will willingly hand over my $ to the government jobs programs, then I will take it as a charitable deduction on my taxes as that is exactly what it is. Charity. LOL

It would have been funny if you were from another state that only issued a back plate and were "just passin through." He would have gone through all of that bs for nuthin'.

This is New Zealand, we don't have 'states', we have one set of laws for the whole country.

I'm running without mine too but haven't been pulled up yet. According to some people you can get off if you write in and explain. I might look into a solution though, can you let me know how you solve the problem and I might do the same.

The petrol station wouldn't authorise the pump because the camera couldn't see my license plate, I had to turn the car around. :-)

Remember, we finally got CC. And just recently I cannot go to jail for the boker in my pocket. However Iwas unaware that we could open carry in TX.

I've had no issues running front plate less but I do have vanity plates on two cars, which aren't cheap. I survived a trip to Austin without any tickets for sillyness. I guess the DPS/APD were busy looking for ADAs that were drunk!
