Default Jacking pucks

I just purchased the plastic c5 jacking pucks and when installing them, two of them broke when snapping into the hole. Has this happened to anyone else? What overpriced junk. I'll be sending them back!

Default Jacking pucks

I installed them on my last two Vettes. Never a problem and easy to install.

Wow, sorry. I contacted my local youth hockey association and they gave me 8 old hockey pucks. I then went to Home Depot and bought some 1-1/2" lag bolts with eyelets like these ( http://www.boltdepot.com/Wire_eye_lags.aspx ) then cut them off with a dremel tool so they wouldn't be too long. I drilled a small hole in the center of each puck and then just screwed them in. Worked perfectly and have about $3 invested.

They might have been damaged in shipping. Contact the vendor and ask for replacements. Normally these are very durable; I put mine to the test almost weekly when I pull my wheels to clean the barrels and fender wells.

I made those for use here. Thought the permanent ones would be good for on a lift.

I contacted the vendor. Said "sometimes one breaks but not usually two." I'm getting a refund. overpriced plastic anyway.

Easy to make nice sturdy ones with a couple of hockey pucks, a drill and an eye-bolt. Cheap, very durable and work great! Zuti
(oops, sorry for the repeat, just saw the post above! But they do work well!)

I have never had an issue with them. You put them in wrong, admit it.

Would be nice to know what particular jacking pucks you bought. I have run the BMW pucks in my last two C5s and never any problems with them.

I use round pieces of wood I got at home depot or a wood working craftsman store. I don't attach them to the car, just put them in my jack when needed. They work great. I keep one in the car and one in my shop.

I guess it's just a matter of opinion. Mine have more than made up for what I paid for them.

Default Puck/Jack

I've shown this before but I had my machinist friend modify these pucks and now they slip right into my jack stands

Default My REAL hockey pucks, eyebolts and nuts are in the left rear storage compartment

Made them from real hockey pucks, eye bolts and nuts and store them in the left rear compartment in the trunk. If needed away from home take only a minute to install. Total cost including buying new hockey pucks and eye bolts was less than $10

Yeap, same solution and cost. Could convert them to permanent, but why do it?

Not sure what brand you purchased, but they don't sound very good. I just walked into my local BMW dealer and picked up a set, they have been on the car for years and never had an issue.

Is there a part number for ones that fit the c5? I've seen several BMW types online.
