Alright guys I need a thread to toss all my Corvette information into so I am chosing this one.
Last Friday I flew out to Indianapolis to pick up this gorgeous Z06. There are a few things that I plan on doing:
-Raise back up to 'livable' ride height. I love the look of it dropped, but my roads here in Kansas are awful.
- I raised the rear up today a bit, but don't have enough wood to get the front up on jack stands, so that will have to wait(considering we are getting a huge snow storm I can wait a bit).
- I have to install the front lowering bolts that the owner included as it is currently running on none.
-Get camber/alignment adjusted
-Fix fallen HUD issue
-Fix intermittent gas gauge issue
-Fix temp control lights so they are visible again
-Fix a CEL I have been getting(P1416)
-Performance mods?? Not sure where go to here.
The drive back from Indianapolis was pretty good! Rougher ride than I am used to('12 wrx), but I think this will be corrected once the ride height issue is corrected.
GET A SUPERCHARGER and get it dyno tuned!! ,just a suggestion. Yep that looks almost bottomed out.... I was in the same spot on height. How many miles?

Car looks great. Don't worry about performance mods. 405hp is plenty for you right now. Focus on raising it a bit to a reasonable height. Learn to drive the car. Honestly the absolute best money you can spend on these cars is track day money. You will become a better driver and after your first track day, you will quickly realize that you don't need more power right now. What you will need is more brakes (stainless lines and track pads will suffice right now) and better tires. Then better seats. Then better suspension. Then better cooling. After all that's done and you've outgrown all those mods, you'll want a big brake kit.
After you've done all those mods, you'll have a lot more experience and won't need my advice anymore. That's also when you'll feel like you need more power.
A track day would be awesome, I am fairly far away from a track here in Kansas but definitely think it would be a blast! I figure once I get all the little things addressed then I shall begin finding a track spot.
I agree 405hp is WAY more than enough. I just got on it slightly while driving it back and was astounded at all the power on tap.

Congrats and enjoy :]
That's pretty much my opinion as well IF you want to track the car. If not, good tires and a performance alignment are all you really need then go ahead and throw power at it.
all i needed to do to mine was put in a shorter shifter and non truckdaddy shift ****. also throwing in some catted lts because racecar congrats man enjoy her
Crossweights are diagonal weights. Left rear and front right wheel weights combined ideally equal right rear and left front wheel weights for a proper handling car. Imagine a table with 4 legs, and 2 diagonally opposed legs are longer than the other diagonally opposed legs (as a pair). The table tilts back and forth. If all 4 touch the ground, the table doesn't move.
Look for a C6 shifter, its shorter and angled back towards the driver, MUCH more comfortable shifting, plus the **** looks like it belongs in a Vette, unlike the stock truck ****...
Well I got the right side lowering bolt in, and now I am stuck on the left side. The allen head that is on the bottom of the upper a arm bolt is stripped to hell. No idea how to remove it.
The area that is screwed up is the upper a arm ball joint( I believe). On the bottom of it you use a allen wrench to hold the bolt while you turn the nut down. This is literally stripped clean.....any recommendations on how to get things lose otherwise?
The only thing I can think of is buying a new ball joint after I use a dremel or something to cut a flat spot in the allen section.
Got the ball joint pulled apart but need to replace it now. Ordered a new one from zip corvette, and got a ball joint press/removal tool from auto zone. Doing my damndest to get this ball joint off.
Had to install a new ball joint on the driver side due to having to destroy the old one.
The west coast corvette lowering bolts may work for some, but I literally had to destroy them to install them. The only method of tightening them was to get on the rubber part with channel locks, and in the process they got tore to absolute crap. I installed them with 4 threads sticking out the top of the leaf spring and here is the height I got..much higher than I expected.
Now on the up side, it doesn't scrape in my driveway like it used to, or on any bumps in town(we have awful roads)...so I'm debating on just raising the back end up slightly and leaving the front(there should be a minor adjustment with the front when I raise the back, correct?) for driveability purposes.
If I want to adjust the fronts I can use a 10mm socket to adjust the passenger lowering bolt, but will have to disassemble everything to readjust the driver side.
Did anyone else run into problems with installing those 'lowering bolts'?
