Figured I'd start a thread and document my changes. I bought this 98 C5 2 weeks ago. It's always been garaged. Paint is flawless. I flew to Indianapolis and drove it home to Atlanta. It's silver on black and came with both tops. It's bone stock...currently.

I have a skip shift eliminator and vararam with air bridge waiting to be put in. Tomorrow I'm getting a Corsa catback with X pipe. Once both of those are in I'll probably get it tuned.
I'm waiting on my iPhone interface to show up from DD. I've got a gift card to summit so I'm going to order a set of Lloyd's mats.
I tinted the sides 20% and the front 32%.
My wife is already yelling at me to stop buying stuff.
Make it the way you want it, enjoy the time spent with it. You will love it(most of the time) when you turn that key and it starts up. If anything goes wrong over the course of owning the car don't blame the car...just come here and find out how to make it right.
Great looking car. Always loved that color combo. I was the same way on the BSM. The moldings look good for being a factory item but the car looks so smooth and clean without them. Glad I took mine off. Lots of before and after pics here to help you with your decision.

Nice looking '98 you bought and some good mods you have planned. Not sure I would go to the expense of a tune at this point. If you do headers, heads/cam, etc., then a tune would really help a lot. But you will get some gain even with just the Vararam.
