Government bailout is the only reason the C7 even exists. Those evil commie liberals saved your sports car, they aren't trying to kill it.
Wrong
George Bush actually bailed out GM and Chrysler. Get your facts straight. The Bush Administration provided short-term bridge loans that provided the Obama Administration to take a couple of months to assess the situation.
C6 will join the C5 as a great cheap reliable high performance sports/track car, nothing wrong with that at all.
I was mainly talking about the looks of each generation of Corvette. The c6 did nothing to improve upon the looks of the c5. In my opinion, it's as plain looking as the c4. Don't get me wrong, my first vette was a 93. Always thought they looked like Firebirds. I hopefully will be getting another c1 in the next week or so.
I still love the classy lines on my 04 C5. When ever I stop to gas up people always comment what a good looking car it is. I think the C5 will stand the test of time just fine.
To me, The C5 is the pinnacle of style, function and performance. But that is just my opinion. But when the C8 comes out the Pinnacle of performance today will be the performance king of yesterday. (providing the government allows a C8 to be built) But that's just the momentum of our society. It's enjoy it while it is still here !
Why would the govt. have a say in the C8 being built?
Of course the majority of ppl in here prefer the c6 over the c5...this is the c5 section! I'm sure over there they think the opposite. I love my c5 but think the c6 looks way better.

I've owned both and I prefer the C5Z over any C6. But I do like the C6Z a lot.
Where the C5 really failed was the interior, but I guess it is a product of its time. Both the C5 and C6 sorely lacked in seats though.
All the talk about how improved the interior is....just talk. I sat in a friends new KIA with a much better interior and seats than the C7's I sat in last week. Now if that doesn't point out the hypocrisy of all the stupid smack talk about the "superiority" of the C7 interior....Nothing will.
KIA interior fit and finish > C7 fit and finish = Sad day indeed.

[QOTE]Those evil commie liberals
[/QUOTE] I'm not going to get into a long political debate with you since you don't pay attention to everything , but that's all we heard from republicans about killing the bailout of the car companies. Now that it has succeeded they don't even want to talk about it. I wonder why ? ?
I am kind of biased here. I have owned (and still own) C3's for quite a while. I just bought a C5, I had said if I sprung for a "modern" Corvette the C5 is the way I would go because it "looks" like a Corvette. I still feel that way. No offense, but the C4's just never did it for me, the later ones in particular are good performing cars, but they just don't have the Corvette look. The C6 carries the Corvette look, but not like the C5 does. I saw the C7 in person for the first time a few weeks back, there are things I like, and things I do not like. Great car, but it is just missing that Corvette "look"
The late C4 verts with the top down were in my opinion beautiful

They are already telling you what to eat, what doctor
to go to, who you have to suport that is not working and yes they
are going to tell what car you can drive
I think in the long run, the c6 will be join the c4 as the least desirable corvette. Just kind of blah!
after all this time, i have been unable to warm up to the C6 in any way. my 04 ce 6 speed convertible is so much more corvette in my opinion. just my 2 cents however.

Well, it looks good in photos. I haven't sat in one yet.
I have owned a C4 vert and a C5 vert. Currently I am without but am now back in the market. I must admit I have been flirting with the thought of a 2010 or 2011 camaro (425 hp makes me take a serious look at them) but also have been looking at the C6Z (but have a hard time pulling the trigger for $42,000 on a weekend toy).
So I am once again looking at the C5's and yes they have sttod the test of time not only in the area of looks but that LS engine has been rock solid. We have alot of people on this forum with well over 100,000 miles and even some in the 200,000 area.
So my goal is to have another C5 in the garage by summer.
