Understand it's just a USED car on a lot to them. Don't get all caught up in that it's a 03 Z06 because that is what you see and not what they see. 5 years ago I found an 03 TR Z06 with the mod red interior with only 7k miles and it was a one owner. The guy traded it back to the Chevy lot for a new Z06. They were asking $34k for the car and it was 900 miles from me. I called them and offered $27k and they said no. I made a counter offer of $28k and held firm and they said no deal. They played the "it's a Z06 50th ann. car" angle but I held firm. They called me a few times that week but I would not budge past $28k. They said thanks for your interest and I started looking again. Guess what? I come home from work 5 days later and they sold it to me for $28k and I paid an extra $500 to have it shipped to me. My point is they will play every game in the book and nag on your emotions. Turn it around on them and just tell them $22k is your bottom line and you will have the deal done today and I bet you get the car. Good luck!
I found two very similar cars in the same area. I am going to give the original dealer a chance to meet the other deals, otherwise I am going to take a look at one of the other one's this weekend. Almost the exact same car but a little bit closer to me and slightly less mileage.
There's seems to be a bit of a misconception: the is NO SUCH THING as a 50th Anniversary Edition Z06, as all 2003 just happen to be built in the 50th year of production, and get a badge recognizing it
The 50 Anniversary Edition cars were all coupe and convertibles, colored Anniversary Red (burgundy or maroon or whatever) with a shale (?) interior
I got a 90 day warranty from this dealer, but listen its a corvette specific dealer and a very reputable one at that- only take in the cream of the crop inventory.
I may refinance w/ a credit union but I got 5% interest on a $12000 loan for 5 years that ill pay off in 3- not bad IMO.
You did well on the sale, but not on the interest
I used my own credit union for my purchase (I only went to the dealer because I wanted that specific car) and my rate is 1.99%. I was offered 1.99% for up to six years. I believe I signed for six years, but I make larger payments to reduce paid interest over the long run; I just opted for the longer term in case something happens and I need to make a lower payment for one month or whatever.

I will probably refinance but that was just easy at the time, I could of paid off the entire note straight up but didn't want to lay out that much cash. I have a meeting to consolidate some old 401k's and ill bring this up as well.
You're right I agree. But you can refinance at any time. It's not like I owe more tha nits worth, in fact I haven't even made a payment.
I am looking for some help on pricing for a 2003 z06 that I am looking at. Looking for some guidance on what other people are seeing in the market.
Here are the details;
2003 Black z06
31,046 Miles
2 previous owners - Traded-in to a dealership by a local guy for a 06 z
B&B Exhaust and MGW shifter otherwise stock
Brand new Potenzas - dealer put them on when it got traded
Clean carfax, looks to be in great shape cosmetically - Driver's seat showing some wear, maybe a little bit more than I have seen with vehicles with similar miles.
Dealer was originally at 25,500 when they got it in November. They told me lowest they could go was 24,500 at that point. Fast forward to this month and they are saying 24,000 is bottom dollar.
My target on the car was 23,000 (basically half-way between trade in and retail).
Just curious as to what people are seeing in the market for similar cars. Also, would be open to hearing any potential negotiation techniques that people have been succesful with regarding dealerships. Anything that I should / could ask for (non-price reducing - understanding that the dealer is not local to me) to help sweeten the deal?
i would also be at 23k
however, if it's close by, nice and you can get it easily. not hard to spend 1k on a flight across country, shipping or gas and a motel
04s are technically worth the most and have all the improvements. but, these are 10yr old cars. buy one in great condition that obviously has led an easy life. i wasn't picky any year between 02 and 04..didn't really want an 01 though
