Hey all, so like many on this forum I am obsessed with CCW Classics. I had a set on my road race fox body, and I actually sent inner and outer shells back to John @ CCW 3 times in order to get the perfect "look"

I notice that on the C5's, sometimes the front wheel lips look very "flat" (no dish on the wheel). Also, some guys prefer 17's and some guys prefer 18's. I know that stock Z06 rear wheels are 18", yet I've seen some absolutely beautiful C5 Z06 with 17" rear CCW Classics. Needless to say, I'm confused!

The torch red car immediately below appears to be close to stock ride height (or possibly slightly lowered on stock bolts), and the rears appear to stick out past the fender lips ~1/4", yet I think the car is drop dead gorgeous. Nothing like a torch red z06 on polished race classics.

So my question is, what offsets and diameters are ya'll running. Lowered (and if so how much), or stock ride height? What tire sizes? Knowing how much time and energy I spent on nailing the right look and fitment on my fox body, I'd like to tap into the knowledge on this forum to nail the look on my C5 the first time.

This car, I think? is stock ride height and running 17" Classics front and rear. My favorite C5 Z06 ever. I hope the owners of these cars are ok with me posting pics, otherwise please pm me and I will edit.









Meanwhile this car appears to be running 18's and I would assume the rear wheel offsets are not placing the tire past the edge of the fender:

Something about this one isn't right... tires too thin? Not lowered enough? Outer shells too thin?



This one looks aggressive, but I'm guessing that sometimes the front wheels are spec'ed "flatter" in case big brakes like the AP's are being used?

Any insight ya'll can provide would be great! It seems that calling up CCW and saying "I'd like CCW Classics for a C5" isn't that simple. You really need to do your homework in order to nail the stance and aggressiveness that you're looking for. Some prefer slammed to the weeds, others prefer stock ride height.

I actually got a lot of heat for running those sizes with narrow tires.
Anyways. Yes, mine were "custom" sizes. 2" front lip, 3" rear lip.
I'm ordering another set for my new Z06. I'll post pix.

 

Looks outstanding! I got flack for running "narrow" tires on mine as well.

 

Black centers are 17X11.5s (square setup)
Polished centers are 18X11 and 18X12s

The front wheels on this one look flatter than other Classics I've seen? Maybe it's just the angle?


This is my car. The front wheels are 10"x18" and the rears are 11"x18". The tires are 265/35 in front and 295/35 Vredesteins in the rear. My car is lowered on stock bolts and front bushings cut. The sidewalls of the tires are slightly past the edge of the fenders but the rims are right at edge. They fit perfectly with no rubbing. The fronts are a little on the flat side with only a slight dish to them, but I like them just the way they are. Classics cannot be made to fit big brake kits on C5's, according to John at CCW. I bought my wheels based on his recommendations for max sizes with no issues. He was right.

 

18X11 and 18X12s. they are the same ones that are on my FRC...

 

It is a little worrisome how many CCW Classic owners have no clue about the offset or lip size they are buying.

There are so many combinations out there when you consider these two factors and it's not surprising how many CCW equipped C5 Corvettes out there don't look quite right... i.e. the lip is too small in the rear, or the wheels stick out too far, or _______.

This fellow looks like he nailed it! I'm curious as to what size offset these wheels are.



From what I've seen the look I tend to like is 18x10 front and 18x11 rear with 1" lip front and 3" lip rear. I don't know what size offsets would be preferred with that configuration however.

 

I don't hate to say it, but you have no idea what you're talking about.
The name of the brand should give you a small hint... Complete CUSTOM Wheels....people order them custom to the specs & sizes the Want...
I can pretty much garuntee that the rear tire/wheel sticks out a tad on that EB Z06 you posted that's a 2" lip in the rear btw. There's no 3" rear lip Classics for a C5 that's not going to stick out with factory quarter panels.....that's just the nature of how the C5 is configured. If you want a flush wheel then essentially you'll have no lip...

I had CCW Big Street Classics...18x10 front / 18x11 rear. The fronts had a 1" lip up front, and the rears had a 2" lip. They sat flush and did not stick out. Any bigger on the outter lip, and they would have stuck out.

 

Do you have any pics available and do you know what the backspacings were?

I'll chime in. Although I decided on 17's instead of 18's, the offsets and lip width will still apply. I have 17x11.5 up front, 17x12.5 in the rear. I have no idea why the original purchaser of these wheels decided on 11.5" and 12.5". My only guess is that he didn't know how to measure wheels correctly, and spec'ed them from edge of the wheel to edge of the wheel, instead of bead to bead. The wheels stick out a tad both in front and rear, about ~1/2". I think it looks aggressive. I don't have any rubbing on the outer fenders, but the rear 335's do rub on the inner fenderwells when going up an extreme driveway. A lowered C5Z isn't going up an extreme driveway anytime soon, so this is a non-issue. The front right rubs at full lock on the control arm (rim only, not the tire). I clearanced the control arm slightly with a flapper disc which helped, but if I was buying these wheels new, I would go 11" front and rear, same lip sizes though. When it comes time for new tires I'll be picking up new inner shells front and rear so I can run 315's on all 4 corners, 11" width front and rear. This is with a 2.0" lip front, 3.0" lip front:

What is there to know? Call ccw and order them exactly how you want them... Problem solved....

If you read the topic, the discussion includes offsets, diameters, etc.

 

It's surprising how many CCW posts are on this forum with no mention of backspacing/offset.

Yup because that's how I wanted them, I want a legit 3" lip in the rear and for the tire to stretch and poke the wheel a ridiculous amount lol and I ordered another set, I'll be sure to post pix.
