Targa Top ?
I'm looking at a 2002 Coupe and the seller says the car only has the clear roof panel. I thought the standard was a body-colored roof panel and I can only find either the dual-top option, (painted and clear), or just the blue tint as a single top. Could you purchase a new 2002 with just the clear top?

Yes, you could purchase just the clear top - it was an option that basically deleted the solid painted top. My car (an '03) only came with the clear top.
Your choices in 2002 were:
- standard painted top.
- clear top that replaced the painted top at an additional charge.
- dual roof option (painted and clear) that was an even more expensive option.

Standard body-colored removable top: No additional charge
Tinted removable top replacing the standard body-colored removable top: $750
Dual roof package: $1,200
On average approx 1/3 of buyers selected just body colored roof, 1/3 selected tinted roof, and 1/3 went for the dual roof option.
I don't know of any new either tinted or body-colored tops available for the C5, but you can buy refurbished tinted tops at several vendors for around $800 exchange, or $1,000+ without exchange. I haven't seen any vendor advertising refurbished body-colored roofs (but that doesn't mean there aren't any).
I think in general it is much harder to locate a good body-colored roof panel than to locate a tinted roof panel.
