Sorry to hear about the misfortune...
What cheezes me is that in the back of my mind if I were you, I would be thinking that some punk is laughing it up.
Most of these people are pretty irresponsible and less intelligent than most. I think I might take my vette back to the scene of the crime, on the same day, same time and stake out the vette with a friend. Video tape everyone walking by, and if someone admires their work or repeats the offense you would have proof.
It would take all of the self control I posess to not get out and rip the poor fool's arms off and beat him to death with them. On the other hand, if it were a woman I don't know what I'd do. I'd get the authorities involved and have the "your_choice_adjective" excuse for a human being arrested, prosecuted, etc...
