Default Storing C5 Convertible With Top Down?

Do any of you store your C5 convertible for a few months at a time with the top down and covered?

Bad idea , It only takes 30 seconds to fold up . My personal opinion.Could end up with bad creases and marks.....

I would not consider storing my 01 convertible with the top down for an extended period. You could end up with creases and marks on the top that may be hard to alleviate.
My opinion as I don't know anyone that did this, however, I would not take a chance with mine.

I store mine top down and then top up about 30 days at a time.

I always drive mine top down and always park/store it with the top up.

I used to park it in the garage with the top down majority of the time.

I stopped because it made the seats/dash dusty (cover helps, but it still happens) and I read about it causing creases in the top.

If you're already covering it, its not really that much of a time saver to keep the top down IMO. I do still park it with the top down, no cover if I'm planning on driving it again within a day or 2.

I would not keep it in the folded position for that long.

When I leave my parked for a week or so, I put the top in the half way position, no cover. But, actually its to keep one of our cats from sleeping on it, seems to be a nice location for it.

I store mine with the top up, unlatched and the latches in the locked position to hold the top up slightly so there's no tension on the material and I keep it covered. Original top on my 01 and its in perfect condition.

We have had a number of convertibles of various makes and models over the years. I don't recall which one, but early on it was in one of the owners manual NOT to store the top retracted for long periods of time. It could cause permanent creases and shrinkage. Ever since we have never left the tops down for more than a couple days. And as an earlier post stated the top up keeps the interior of the car cleaner.

My top is almost never up. I haven't put it up for more than a day in a year. I have no mold, no creases, no nothing. Its fine.

Creasing on your top, easy fix...PARK IT IN THE SUN FOR A FEW HOURS WITH THE TOP UP AND AWAY GO THE CREASE LINES.. Just my experience and opinion. works for me

Top up. I have no scientific reason just limits the dust and cleanup on the interior.

I do the same thing that 1KLRTOY does. I leave the visors down though to remind me to relatch the top before driving!! This keeps the tension off of the fabric. I own a 02 and the top is in perfect condition
