Subscribed as well. Originally wanted to save money and went with Corvette Mods Low Beam HID bulbs in stock housings. VERY disappointed with the light output and wish I would have just waited to save more money and get the entire new HID housings like most vendors carry. Now I watch the used marketplace and vendor sales to see if I can snag a set to replace mine and then sell the ones I have.
Something to consider: The factory headlights were designed to focus light into a small area directly in front of the car. Running silverstars, HIRs or even HIDs in these housings will only brighten this small area.
The Projector in our housings is design to illuminate an area nearly 10 times a large as the area illuminated by the factory lights and with the HID power source it has no problem doing this.
We will be having a sale on these lights very soon (within a week)
Careful. That type of thinking can end up costing you a bunch more in the long run. Sometimes it's worth simply holding off on a mod to get what you really want.
I know you're right, but I can't get over the $650 price. George advertised and then had a sale recently, but the $50 reduction wasn't enough for me to go ahead. I know he has to make a profit on what he sells and I've read only good things about these lights. I'm hoping he might be willing to do a further reduction for a limited time for a relatively small number of these kits without sacrificing too much of his profit margin (the downside is that people would expect that price every time and that's not good for him). That would get me to pull the trigger. I'm not going to put any more money into aftermarket bulbs that fail in less than a year (Silverstar).
I do not presume to tell George or any businessman how to run his company. I'm speaking only as a consumer.

Right now the best way to get awesome discounts is order multiple items. I would be happy to put together a package price that's usually better than our sales if you order several products together.
For the time being, I decided to go with the RF 4-Hi harness and HIR bulbs for both high and low beams. It made a large improvement and only cost about $125. For the amount of night driving I do, this is good enough for me. I would love to install either the RF Bi-Zenon projectors or the European 80-90 watt setup, but the budget just won't allow it at this time.
Do the quick and easy conversion to 9005's on the low-beam side.
Good luck
The 9012/9011 HIR bulbs are brighter than the 9006/9005. The reason I didn't use 9011 on the low side is that I didn't want to mess with the different diameter of the low and high bulbs. There's not much holding the high beam bulb in the low socket after you cut down the tabs and grind out the inside.
I know the majority of people on here don't like the depo lights they say they look like frog eyes but had them for over a year with HID bulbs and don't even want to think about the factory lights anymore mine are bright and I can see without a problem
