I use two roung hardwood decorative pieces of wood. I think I got them a Home Depot or some wood working speciality store. Mine are about 3inchs in diameter and about 3/4 thick. I keep one in the car and one in the shop. They work great.
I have 5. four in the car on a carabineer in case it has to go on a hoist. 1 in the garage in the event I need just one.
Hockey puck(s)
5/16 "T" nut(s)
5/16 Closed eyebolt(s)
5/16 flat washer(s)
I believe a 3/8" drill bit. I used a angle grinder and gut off the extra threaded bolt and flushed up for a nice appearance.
Here's what I now have. After forgetting to remove the pucks and loosing them, I got these. Install and forget about them. They are always in place. dont need to look for them when you need them

Yes, you can make them yourself from some hockey pucks and eye bolts. Or you can buy them from a number of vendors. I decided to purchase a set of the BMW jacking pucks - they snap in and will not fall out when driving the car so you don't have to take them out after using them to lift the car.
