Default Need QUICK ANSWER: Seat Mounting Bolts!!!!

Ok-I have always hated the rocking power seat BS. You don't have the rocking seat with a manual seat track. The only C5s that had a manual seat track on the drivers side were the 99 and 00 FRC. I finally found one of them on e-bay and I am wanting to install it today. I have everything taken apart....

Then I realized that the bolts that go "up" from the seat track to the seat were not included with my tracks. What size bolt is this? Any idea if I can order this separately? I may try and just find a bolt that fits and use that as long as it works with the nuts. The problem is that if it is too long, I wont be able to "put it though."

Anyone that has swapped seats or tracks should know what I am talking about.

I REALLY need to do this now because I didn't realize this, but the bolts on the back of the existing power seat track were rusted and I had to bang them out with a hammer after the nut was removed. These are APSIS seats, built off a stock C5 seat. Either Apsis or the previous owner of these seats let these sit in moisture. They were so bad that when I used the hammer things bent-it was the only way to release it.

I'm going to work on solving this, but the collective knowledge of the forum is my backup plan.

And.....go....

I have 2002 Z06 seats and rails out of the car. Passanger side, manual slider uses 4 bolts to tie seat to slider rails. Bolt size is M8 1.25 about 1 inch long.

However these bolts do not go "up" from rails to seat, they go " down" from seat to rails. So not entirely sure we are talking about the same bolts.

Goodluck.

We are talking about the same bolt. I mis-"spoke."

The power seat rails have a bolt that goes up. Manual seat rails go down. The local Chevy dealer didn't have any bolts in stock. I went to home depot with 1/2 the track and an employee there helped me figure that out. M8 is what I ended up buying after he helped me try a few different sizes.

My drivers seat is now a manual slider, with no rocking seat issue.

Hopefully this thread will help someone else in the future!!!

Great, I would insure it was at least grade 8, I think the metric number for that grade strength is 9.8, I also noticed the bolts on mine had Blue Loctite on them.

There is difference between old models and new models. I had a broken white plastic clevis and my track had studs and nuts. The new style had black plastic clevis' and needed bolts to secure it.

Just thought I'd share that info
