Default Hud bezel

Has anyone found a solution to fixing a cracked bezel other than pulling the dash apart?

Some have been able to replace it from the top but I'm not sure how they do it. The bezel is clipped at the bottom of the posts.

I bought the bezel and have yet to install it because labor is about 200.00 to change it out.

Im thinking the next time I change out my windshield I can have better access.

Pulling the dash pad is not that difficult. Removing the windshield will be absolutely no help. I used the instructions found in this thread (http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...d-install.html) when installing a HUD in my '98 and found the pad removal instructions excellent and the difficulty low. Don't wait, go for it. If you need it, GMPartsHouse.com has the bezel for about $32 IIRC.

I agree that there should be no way to do this without removing the dash pad.

I've not heard of anyone that has changed out the bezel without taking the dash pad off.

If you're going to replace it, pull the dash.

If you're going to jury rig it with an epoxy... you may still need to pull the dash just to get appropriate reach on the area.
