Trying to make some lemonade here. I thought I had scored a deal on a set of first gen Pfadt coilovers in January. I found I needed a missing bushing when I got to looking them over but thought I would just replace them all with new parts from Pfadt. Well we all know what the chances are of that happening now.
So I am asking for help from two different directions. I have a post in the parts section to see if any one might have what I need. It's the bushing on the metal collar in the pic below.
My other thought is that Pfadt did not manufacture these rubber parts and were sourced from an outside manufacturer. Anyone here in the engineering,m manufacturing world that could point me in a possible direction to find these parts.
It would be great if Pfadt was interested in providing this kind of info but it has been close to a month with no response from them.
I have used a company called SealJet to make custom parts quickly or in small quantities where it is cheaper than having a mold made. They take stock material and machine it to make whatever you want. They can even make O-rings. They stock all kinds or material in all kinds of different durometers or hardness based on whether you want an elastomer or polyurethane, Deltrin, etc.. They can do it because of the special machine they have which is not like your normal lathe.
You just need to determine what material you want, what durometer/hardness, and give them a drawing with dimensions and tolerances.
I had to redesign a seal once and had them make them overnight. Saved our nuclear plant $10 Million dollars in lieu of trying to have Parker Seals make a mold and then ship the parts the following week. We could not start up without the fix.
