I just received a copy of the window sticker for my recently purchased 2000 coupe. It shows this car has a $500 option, "Active Handling System". What is this and what does it do? The car also has the optional "Continuously Variable Real Time Damping" and I know about this.
OK, now that we have beat you up, here is a video done by the factory on the C5. This is for 2001 but there are others on YouTube for other years. You will fined a video clip in it showing and describing how the system works. There may be other things in there also. Recommend you watch it. AH coverage starts at about 9 minutes in
Personally I turn off Traction Control which disables AH. I know how to drive a car and I don't what any unwanted action from electronics. There are cases of this happening. ABS is bad enough, wish I could turn it off too. I don't need longer stopping distance so idiots don't lose control in braking. Government at work again.
Thanks dadaroo and others. My closest friend just passed in a tragic accident and I was on the forum for a distraction. I was just not thinking clearly. If you saw on the news of the American Airlines pilot that fell from the 12th floor of a Florida hotel, that was my friend, Tommy Saunders. He had owned several corvettes over the years and was one of the most successful autocrossers in SCCA history. Although he has been running Mod cars in recent years, he won four National Championships driving a '70 coupe in BSP. We have all lost a great racer and my dear friend.

My thoughts are with you. Very tragic accident. Since your friend was into Corvettes why not tell his story - It deserves to be told.
