Default Pin Stripe

Has anyone actually pin stripped their C5? I would love to see any picks you have. I don't know if I have ever seen a pin stripped vet. Thanks

Yes, my car has been pinstriped. The vette was a little over 1 year old and i was at a car cruise when a older gentlemen approached me and asked if he could stripe my car. I thought he was crazy. He is always at the cruise and I had seen his work on other hot rods. He had seen my car and at the time there were not a lot of c5 out. He told me that he uses poster paint and if I did not like what he did it was removable. He wanted to but ghost stripes around the side coves, across the top of the mirrors, and a wave line under the corvette lettering front and back. I said ok. I have never taken a pic close enough to capture the stripping so you really can not see it, but believe me it is there. He charged me 35 dollars, and what a great mod. The stripes are removable with a clay bar.

When I had my '00 coupe, I had pinstripes installed around the outside mirror, around the cove area (extended onto the door area too) and around the top of the rear fascia. Here are some pics:

When it comes to pin stripe, less is always better in my opinion. It is easy to get carried away and ruin it.

It is posible to get carried away and ruin almost every thing that is done to these cars. Did you see some interiors and under the hood of some of these cars on this forum. You have to know when enough is enough.

Sorry to disappoint you, but there are many Vettes here on the forum that have stripes and a few that have pinstripes and they look damn good. Just because you don't like them doesn't make them wrong.

Agread stries add something to the cars if done right, the cars were born in the 50's and its a good way to bring yesteryear style to new cars.
