My name is Ricardo, finally bought my first corvette, a black 1997 auto specimen. It needs much love and attention but I've been giving it a whole lot of attention.
So far I have done the following: got the fog lights working, replaced the plugs, oil, flushed the coolant and p/s, oil pressure sensor, back up switch, rims and tires, turnsignal/ emer flasher.
Still need to take care of engine maintenance, driver's seat shims, brakes, possible rear wheel bearing, and a full paint corrective detailing. But inspite of it all, damn this is a fun car to drive, daily driver duty for now, seems to act better with every drive.
anyway, wanted to check in, pics to follow soon, I live in Norfolk, cummute to Chesapeake for work, enjoying every mile in between.....

Hopefully the pics uploaded. Plenty of things to keep me busy for the next few months, goal is to drive it to Carlisle this year for the show, not to show it but to be loud and proud....
Welcome to the Forums and welcome to the Vette world. I live over here in Hampton , hit me up on here and maybe we can get together and go for a cruise.
Also thats a sharp car you have there!
Terry
Welcome Ricardo ! Hey - I live in Chesapeake; maybe I'll see you around. I have a Pewter '99. I also work in Chesapeake. Watch out for the unmarked random police cars around in the morning. I saw a yellow C5 pulled over the other day - by what looked like a regular ol' 4 door run of the mill sedan (well- except for all the blinking red and blue lights that were flashing from behind the grill and out the back glass). I will also be tackling my oil pressure sensor at some point. Looked at the other day, said a few choice words, and closed the hood for now. Its not leaking much, very little in fact. I'm pretty sure its the sensor, anyway. I'd like to prove it first. Did you remove your intake to do yours ?
Hello back and thanks for the comments. Terry, im always game for a cruise, just need an excuse to leave off work.....
Didn't remove my intake, I did the cutting of the tray above the sensor, didn't blink once, so mucheasier that way, 20 minutes in and out. Well aware of those unmarked units, saw a leo on a Kia. I havethe sensor socket if you need it.
