Default Floor Jack Opinion

I am going to make a set of jack pucks for my C5. Easy construction using an eye bolt, a washer, a blind nut and a hockey puck.

I also need a new floor jack. I was looking at the Pittsburgh Automotive 3 ton low profile jack. Any one have any experience with it? On sale for $89 from HF.

I've got one of those jacks and so does my cousin. They work well and seem to be a lot of jack for the money.

I've had one for 8 months or so now and it works fine.

I had the all aluminum jack from craftsman, it was over $200. It rendered itself useless after about 5 years. Its tough to find a quality jack, so if I couldn't find a good one, I went with a cheap one at HF.

So far so good, time will tell

I have one of the smaller 1.5 ton aluminum low profile racing jacks from HF (blue & Silver ones) was 129 on sale for 89 then used coupon ended up getting it for like $59 and it works like a champ slides right under with pucks in place. No ramps necessary lifts easily with no complaints.

Bought the HF 68053 six months ago while on sale. It works great.
Anyone interested can buy it for $59.99 by using coupon 86741863. My coupon states that it's good until 06/10/14. (Lot 68053/69252/60569)

I've got a Kwik-Lift and had to go with the #68050 because I need the 23 3/4" lift to get it in the air. It's been fine so far.

I wanted one of the lightweight blue/silver ones, but none of them had enough lift.

I made the hockey pucks last year as you did with specs off this forum and they fit and work perfectly.
I purchased my floor jack from Costco. It is an Arcan 2.5 "low profile" hybrid jack. The hybrid is because it is part aluminum and part steel. As a result it is a lot lighter than the steel jacks, but a little heavier than the aluminum jacks. It cost $99 last year when I purchased it and I recently noticed that they were still priced the same.
I looked at HF and were considering them as well, but I went with the Arcan and it has worked perfectly!

Thank you everyone. I just ordered the low profile 3 ton from HF. I may have gone with the 68053 if I had seen the coupon code before I ordered the 3 ton......Oh well....

I just got one a couple weeks ago. (model #61282) Not much use on it yet, but it seems to be good when I tried it and it fits under the side of my '99. I also have their aluminum 1.5 ton and it has worked good for several years.

They have sales and they have coupons in newspapers, mailed direct, magazines, etc. Many of them are different prices on the same item. The best prices are the coupons that are printed in magazines like Motor Trend, Hot Rod, Chevy Hi Performance, etc. The coupon I found for the 3 ton was $59.99

Here's another example of a floor jack that will last a lifetime. This one is a long frame Compac floor jack with a 3.5" high saddle and a 5" high frame. It comes with a 3-year warranty.

Turns out the three ton low profile jack I ordered from HF is on back order so I cancelled it and ordered this one (HF 68053). And yes the coupon code WORKS! Saved $22 and I greatly appreciate it!

No. We have a sporting goods store a few miles away. They are all over eBay though for a great price.
