I think you're probably OK. If it were a new diff or a fresh rebuild, then it would be a different story. You just changed the diff lube. As long as you used the right stuff, you're OK.
What are the penalties for street racing in Texas?
Could be as simple as a slap on the hand or as bad as jail time. Depends on the cop and how "stupid" you were. I'm sure this goes for most states. There used to be street racing nights in Fort Worth off Mark IV Parkway. Cops would only come to "make people disburse." They rarely stopped people, at least for the times I went out anyways. I was merely a spectator.
Huge fines and jail time. Just going 20 mph over the speed limit is grounds for instant arrest.
Yeah a lot (most) police are starting to crack down on street racing harder since more people are being injured and / or killed from - not only the racers but inocent drivers also. It's just not worth it anymore. Last Saturday I was stopped at a light on a 3 lane road and a new Mustang pulled up beside me. I didn't know it was a 5.0 since he stopped a little back and I could see his hood. When light changed and we started moving I saw the 5.0 badge .. after he moved a little ahead of me he nailed it and saw the paper license on it .. he did churp his tires in second as he flew on down the street. I'm stock so he'd beat me anyway if I'd tried to race but not going to on the street. I'm sure he was bragging to his buddies about puttin' down a Vette (that didn't even know he was in a race or tried).

Yeah heard they do ... guess only thing that hurts them is the weight. Even if they do have about 60 more HP than a stock C5 the extra 600 - 700 lbs offsets it some. What is it .. 10 HP loss for every 100 lbs or something like that ??

Friend with a tune, gears and x-pipe runs 12 flat all day long in his new 5.0. They are very quick cars and I wouldn't underestimate them.

I'm not sure but now that you mention it I'm going to try to find out. Would be interesting to know but that sounds about right. Glad we're light, At least we aren't challenger/charger weight.

Changed the differential oil last weekend and am having a problem waiting until I drive 300 miles to punch it per GMs recommendation. I feel like such a sissy. Granted I don't typically drive the car hard, when one pulls up beside me and wants to run I oblige (in Mexico of course). Yesterday a 5.0 Fox body Mustang wanted to race but I didn't do it, he probably thought I was scared, and I'm sure he texted all his buddies about how a corvette "bowed" down to him.
If you're really worried about this ...... then you have a very difficult life ahead of you
If it was the new 350 Mustang its got 650hp and if you aint moded good thing you didn t. I looked at one today while I was have a brake job done on my Stang.

Me too. Even if I'm in the middle of an oil change. No race can wait. Just put the plug back in and run for pinks. Damn the oil level, I can't look like a fool to a mustang owner!
Yes I agree....once in Mexico (of course) was having the interior in my Corvette rolled and tucked and along came a bunch of banditos driving mustangs (or was it riding mustangs?) damn the interior I said...gotta kick some mustang a&&. Never did get the interior finished..
