Changed the differential oil last weekend and am having a problem waiting until I drive 300 miles to punch it per GMs recommendation. I feel like such a sissy. Granted I don't typically drive the car hard, when one pulls up beside me and wants to run I oblige (in Mexico of course). Yesterday a 5.0 Fox body Mustang wanted to race but I didn't do it, he probably thought I was scared, and I'm sure he texted all his buddies about how a corvette "bowed" down to him.
Not sure why age matters. Just saying it's frustrating not being able to drive the car like it's meant to be driven. As stated, I don't typically drive the car hard; but, I don't like not having the option to do so for at least 200 more miles. Today I'll be rechecking the fluid level to make sure I don't need to add anymore. Next up this weekend: replacing the fuel filter and installing a new transmission pan gasket
Go to a parking lot and do about a dozen figure 8's. This will help ensure that the new oil gets everywhere and especially the LS clutches. You should be golden after that.

If, in your book, this is really a HUGE issue, then you're in for a pretty rough life. Better sell the C5 now and get a Prius - one less issue and far fewer temptations.
Pussies get old...and claim that doing anything exciting might burst their blood vessels.
Personally, if a guy wants to race....I'm all over that!
I'm not dead yet or need someone's approval.
I say go for it and live like it's meant to be.
Me too. Even if I'm in the middle of an oil change. No race can wait. Just put the plug back in and run for pinks. Damn the oil level, I can't look like a fool to a mustang owner!

I think you're probably OK. If it were a new diff or a fresh rebuild, then it would be a different story. You just changed the diff lube. As long as you used the right stuff, you're OK.
