I have an 04 vert and getting ready to purchase this intake. Can you guys give me the pros and cons of this? I read it can give up to 40 more hp which I find this hard to believe.

Thanks in advance!

Pro, it is a true cold air intake that takes air from outside the car and forces it into the intake. It is one of the few that have actually proven on the 1/4 track to make a difference.

Con, not very well made and will cause some cursing during install.

If you'd like hours and hours of Vararam debate, punch Vararam into the search feature here.

If you want the best performing poorest built cold air intake on the market, buy a Vararam. It will make you smile when you drop the hammer

Bingo. I like this guy.

I love my Vararam, but I will never (willingly) install another one. I've got a nice long scar on my hand from reaching up inside the bumper cover!

Oh, and a nice little whistle at about half throttle!

Function over form pretty much sums it up...gained .1/mph over a Blackwing, even more if you pull the filter

I'll agree that it gives you the most performance of about any air intake system, but the fit quality is questionable.

Just installed one recently (300 miles) and really dont see what the fuss is about? Installed this taking my time and all the while thinking "when will the trouble hit" Never really did for me and this was my first performance Mod. As far as gains, I wonder if i could have gone without this Mod for awhile longer since i dont really race around or drive at a high rate of speed (YET). But yes i am a Newb to the C5 and maybe i will appreciate the gains once i know wut i got and how to utilize it.I Plan on doing a tune in the near future so that may change things. No horror story here.

Between the vararam and SLP exhaust (axle back) I gained 47 RWHP.
