Please forgive me if there is another thread. I have searched and searched for weeks and cannot find my specific question.Feb. 2014, purchased my first ever Corvette. (finally a grown up I guess) She is a Mill Yellow 2003 Z06. 33K miles in great shape. Currently she is my daily driver and she will remain as such (except for the days I ride my Harley) until I find a suitable daily driver for work in the $5K range I can pay cash for.
My question is regarding the "Man Switch". What are the total mods necessary for this to work? I recently climbed under the car to look at the exhaust to investigate for myself and I found two electronic flappers in the H pipe before the rear axel. In my year model, was this something Chevy had installed that opened at a certain RPM? I assume if that is the case, the "Man Switch" simply allowed us to open and close at will... To be perfectly honest, I HATE the flaps, they rattle and sound like crap in my opinion. The sound of the free flowing exhaust is awesome when I care to open them but still, the rattle drives me nuts! Is there a way to quiet the flappers or is this simply a trade off I have to live with until I change out the ENTIRE exhaust?
Thanks in advance,
Darwin
Someone installed electric cutouts on your car, they aren't from Chevy. I'm sure someone would happily trade your their stock exhaust and cash for what you have.

They are not a factory option. You can remove them and best bet would be to find someone that would swap a stock system for your cutouts.
Thank you for the responses! I think I will do some real research and make an entire exhaust changeout... Maybe at that time I will look into placing them for sale.
