Tail light lens differences between years
Did the General use the same tail light lens for all eight years of production?
Looking for the differences not in shape, but rather the design of the reflector patterns.

Looks nice.
May I ask where you purchased your kit?
I've seen various prices from various sources. Flehbay, CC etc..
Any of those to avoid? Or pretty much all the same

Make your own, Cut the spacers to the size you want and get longer screws.
Consists of 8 screws and 8 delrin spacers that are about 1-1.5" inches wide at the point of contact between the lense and the body. Plenty of support for the lense.
Let me say at the outset that I am a new owner (3 weeks) and don't undestand my car yet! I would really like to do the flush mount but is there not a gasket or seal beteween the lense and the body? With just longer screws and extensions what happens to the seal. As I see it the install should leak like a sieve; so I must be missing something.

Thanks!
No seal. Each light is a self-contained "pod". The only "seal" (as such) is on the individual bulb sockets themselves where they attach in the rear of the light housing. Screws require a standard T-15 Torx bit to remove.
There are a couple aftermarket companies selling tail light "seals" that surround each light. Originally marketed as a convenience item, as a small amount of water remains after washing and is hard to reach with towels, etc. Some like the appearance factor of flush lights. You can make your own as well.

My recollection is that I bought the kit on Fleabay for about $11 . . . EDIT: This may be it--or darned close-- http://www.ebay.com/itm/SALE-CHEVROLET-CORVETTE-FLUSH-MOUNTED-TAIL-LIGHT-KIT-LS1-C5-LASER-CUT-BEST-FIT-/221401614813?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3ACorvette&hash=item338c9089dd&vxp=mtr
I'll look through the pile of stuff in the garage or my old transactions and will post/send the result.
It rains so little here and as such I rarely wash the car - perhaps 3x/year - - -otherwise just a quick detail-- so although a seal would be a smart thing if you drive the car in weather, it's sort of a non-starter here.

Yep found out that the lens, housing and wiring is all one piece when I went to buy a couple of 'lenses' for mine as they were scratched. When parts guy told me they were around $125 each I almost fainted. Those scratches didn't look as bad after that !

I hear ya. You can find good, clean used ones for $20-$30 price range.
