Default LS1 vs LS6 Intake

Hi, I've got an LS1 sticker on the LS6 engine intake (2004 Z06). Is there any difference between the two? The original owner told me this is the way it came from the dealer. Anyone seen this on other Zs?

absolutely not factory

there was an ls6 plate that was used in 2004

if you have a z06 with the ls6 engine chances are you have the ls6 manifold

look at the casting numbers on the side of your heads for the numbers 243. that's another clue. hope you didn't buy an ls1 swapped z06

Heads are 243, and dip stick located toward front of block like all LS6s. I had a corvette shop go over the whole car and they confirmed it was clean. Only odd part was the LS1 plate on the intake. I was curious if factory may have been using up parts as it was a late (June 2004) build.

my guess is the throttle body may have had an issue and been replaced with a LS1 throttle body. the 2001+ LS1 intake is the same as the 01+ Z06 intake physically, the sticker on the TB is different. i would just remove it and clean the gunk off fromt he sticker and be done with it. If you are concerned about it, i would pull the throttle body off and use a caliper to measure the ID of the throttle body at the plate to verify the correct size.

Thanks, I thought that was the case and I'm happy as long as there's no performance compromise. It's a great car and I enjoy driving it every chance I get.
