We did the cam install over the weekend and the car runs pretty well, untuned as of now(in the works of course).
Car has LG super pro headers and X, B&B bullets.
Cam kit can from Texas speed and included; cam, springs, and pushrods.
There seems to be a intermittent noticeable valve train tick that I can not match up to anything in particular. Oil pressure hangs out at 35psi at idle and climbs accordingly.
Tuning issue? Valve train issue?
We did the work and are 100% sure the O ring is not crimped on the oil pump.
I would love some opinions, thanks everyone.
Valve train noise with aftermarket cams that have aggressive ramp rates is the nature of the beast. As long as your pushrod length, and valve lash is on the money it's probably as quiet as its going to get. Make sure you have a hood liner on there, and maybe move up to a little heavier oil.
welcome to the world of high lift cams. It will sound quiet some days and some days it will sound like a sewing machine. I hate it.
That's what I'm curious about, is it just noisy some days and not others? High lift cams are noisy, I know that, but it's just unnerving to have it be intermittent...
She's my baby and every tiny noise freaks me out, like every other person here ;-)
