Default Time to Vent .....

We as members on here use the venders for products that we use to customize our cars .
I can honestly say that there are 3 of them that I've dealt with that will sell you a good product no matter if it cost 5 bucks or 5 grand .
It seems that we have to wait for weeks or months until our product arrives and onces it does , the crap always has to be modified to fit the dam car, and I understand that ..
Come on man a simple dam arm rest cover that I've waited on for weeks ,
Doesn't even come close to fitting, yes this is very minor maybe to you but what I'm going to have to do now having to take it some where and pay to have it fitted again is what pisses me off the most ...
I'm not calling you out but take a look at your product ... I'm sick of the
BS man ..

All vendors should be evaluated by members and deleted as necessary

I hear ya James, Is that just a slip on cover or is it one that has to be tucked in under the frame of the rest?

If I got something like that every one would know where NOT to buy. I bought my seat covers and arm rest cover off the auction site and they fit great, with quality leather. And they don't gouge you.

They'd get that piece of crap back, and I'd buy someplace else. Heck my seat covers only took 2 weeks and they were custom made for the colors I wanted.

I purchased mine from Redline. Went thru a lot of pulling and stretching with a staple gun to get that cover to fit properly. Really needed an additional 3/8 inch of material all around to hide the elastic band which I did not want to see. I got the look I wanted after two hours!

The forum suppliers have their own private blog on here where they can complain about us forum members. I had a dealing with one forum supplier that is well known for his lighting products and he was an *** to me about shipping my stuff to me. Sent me a tracking number and it was never sent until I asked about it. The day I questioned why it wasn't shipped he stated it was but according to the tracking number it hadn't even been taken to the shipping company until the day I asked....this was 5 days later after the purchase and the tracking number was sent. He said it was shipped but lied to me about it.

Safe to say I will never buy another thing from this forum sponsor.

I'm all for someone making money because it's a business. However, lying to the customer because you hadn't shipped it when you said you shipped it is pretty stupid. Don't send a tracking number until the day it ships. Pretty damn simple.

And why are all the vendors allowed to advertise in the General Discussion and Tech sections? They have their own section but rarely use it. Gets tedious scrolling past all the adds with their bumps and ttt's.

Because they pay to keep this site free for all of us. It's been covered many times on here.

And James, I agree with you - the fit of that console cover is terrible. Hope you can get it to work.

So since they make the site free they can sell crap products? They are only a part of why its free, there are a lot of members that pay the fee to be on here as well, but bottom line is crappy workmanship and shady business practices should not be allowed or tolerated at all. and vendors like this should not be allowed to be a part of corvette forum regardless.

Anytime you have advertising there is going to be a conflict of interest. Until the Forum model is only based on members' dues there is going to be a need for revenues hence advertising. This is where the conflict kicks in.
On a larger scale for example, how much do you think news organizations are very eager to investigate products revealed to be bad for the public when those products are manufactured by the same companies who spend millions to advertise on their networks?
Perhaps there could be a rating system for each vendor. Of course, each reviewer would have to be clearly identified and vendors would have a right of rebuttal.
