Default put the BRAKES on

Can anyone suggest a good reliable rotor drilled and slotted for under 250 for the set. I have looked a little and kinetic and Callahan have popped up. Does anyone have any experience with these 2 brands. I currently have ac Delcos and the hubs pretty much rusted so I'm looking for something that does not rust.

Centric Stop Tech rotors have a good reputation. They're about $97 each. One thing to consider is if you use the car for HPDE, drilled rotors are more inclined to crack. that's why most people use either plain or slotted rotors. I don't think you will find any drilled rotors for $250/set of four.

You're probably going to find that low-cost rotors will be made in China. There are specific rotors that are made in the US, but expect to pay much more.

As far as rusting, some rotors will have the hats painted but you can do that yourself. Clean the new rotor with brake parts cleaner to remove any oil that might be on them, then wipe with something like mineral spirits or acetone. Mask off the rotor face and spray the hats with a high temp paint. Clean the rotor surface again to remove any trace of adhesives and install.

As mentioned, if you are going to do track days, don't get drilled rotors. Slotted rotors will work fine and will not be as prone to cracking as drilled rotors.

I do not plan to use these for road course driving. Just hard street driving maybe some quarter mile stuff. I've considered going up to the c6 z51 sizes but new brackets rotors and calipers will run 1000 bucks so for the mean time I'm just looking for something that won't rust and will stop the car better than normal.

Check out my thread. I just went through this. Mine were a little more than what you are looking to spend but i don't recommend the breakmotive rotors. Mine cracked with just aggressive street driving. They have cheaper one piece rotors that might work for you. Good luck.

You don't need new calipers with the C6 Z51 conversion

Does anyone know if the C6 Z51 front rotors fit the stock C5Z 17" wheels?

Have their drilled and slotted rotors and metallic pads on my 2002 c5 for about a year now, no issue no problems, and the rotor faces still look new.
