Where did you get the battery cover, I've never seen one like it?
It's an ACI battery den cover. I purchased it unpainted from JMMotoring (another Forum sponsor). I then sent it and my black GM rear plate frame to Josh at RPI who painted both pieces MSG to match the fender covers.
Not sure if ACI still makes the battery cover as I had a hard time tracking it down.
Listen, everyone has an opinion, a different taste and a different balance in their checkbook. So, you don't have to like it so to speak but at least perhaps accept it, that another driver may like how they have modified their car...that's all.

I'm thinking about perking up the engine with some chrome. Any recommendations? Photos would really be appreciated.
I say go ahead and mod your car the way you want, there will always be the jealous ones who can't afford to do what you may be able to achieve. There all over, even in this thread....

OP, depending on which direction you choose, less or more, be careful with chrome if you attend shows. Here in Florida, we've seen guys burn their hoodliners due to the heat from the sun reflecting off of their chrome engine bling. I've seen guys cover up their engine bays with towels or close their hoods during the time of day when the sun was reflecting off of their parked cars because they couldn't move them.
OP, I have learned over the several years that I have been on this Forum that any thing you ask or Pictures you post you will get a variety of comments, good or bad,no matter if you ask for their opinion or not!!
My suggestion to you is to take what ideas you have in mind, look at several pictures of other people's cars, weather it be here or other Corvette sites and make it your own!!
Then..........Enjoy what you have created!!
Here are a few of mine with some newly installed Chrome.

After seeing many over-stuffed chrome and scratched up stainless steel engine bays at Corvette shows over the years, I decided to go with a "less is more" approach and only added some small chrome accents to help break up the sea of black.
Regardless of what many others might say, Chrome or no Chrome, I like what you have done. Not too much and just enough to make the engine compartment stand out and look nice. Each to their own liking on what they want to do. Some i feel are too much, others just not enough with what they have done. You have a good balance with colors. Nice Job. Have fun showing the Vette.
