Test drove a 911...

I drove a 370Z recently while I was deciding what I wanted, it was fun to drive but still not a Corvette

Drive a 911 turbo, or even a 997 S and see what you think. I drove a 997tt and I am pretty sure that will be my next car. Everything about it is just better.
I just don't see what the fuss is all about. Sure seems like you get very little for the money when it comes to Porsche.

As far as the F430, I've never driven one, but I love how they look and I would imagine they are everything that I would expect them to be. Then again, you need $120k to touch a used one and I'm sure most people would prefer one of them to two turbos. It's kind of the same argument.
I will fully admit it's not entirely fair to compare the car I drove to the C5 as a C6 would be much closer in price and model year range, but I don't really want to make a lateral move if I'm going to change cars. In a perfect world, I would have both (and a F430).
General question - Can you even work on a Porsche, or do you have to take it to a dealer? Then again, most of the ones that would own this Porsche would just assume have their dealer put in the windshield washer fluid.
