Default Dyno tune

After a valve spring failure I have got my car back. It also got a tune and 1 3/4 Texas Speed headers and catless xpipe. Had a black wing when I bought it. Sorry for the terrible picture but it made 391/384.

Vararam intake, OBX Headers, x-pipe with cats, BTR stage 2 Cam, 227/234 113lsa. 397 RWHP on a dynojet. Tuner told that me my engine is a bit of a under achiever. C5Z06`s can dyno anywhere from 330rwhp to 380rwhp stock. He had a 01 Z in the shop week before myne that dynode 380RWHP completely stock! on the same dyno!

So wide range of base #`s out there.

Almost identical to mine, I have Texas Speed 1 3/4 headers with O/R X-pipe. Texas Speed 228R cam with 112 LSA. Texas Speed Tune, and I also had a SLP Blackwing but just traded out for a Vararam, so hopefully thatll help out a little better. I really need to get to a tuner to solidify my #'s

I would be interested in what you are making. I was thinking of that cam if I decided to make the step.

Mine dynoed 353 stock, 365 after tune/vararam - on a very stingy dyno. This same dyno showed only 343whp on my 08 G8 GT that had ported TB, vararam, X pipe, 1-3/4" LT's, no cats, axleback, tune - AND ran 12.7xxx @ 110 in October in NH on street tires. Some G8's show 370whp w/ the same mods, and most are in the mid 350's to low 360s, so I think on a different dyno I wouldn't be surprised to hit close to 380 w/ the minimal mods I have, and that it makes sense to eclipse 390whp once you add headers.

Reason I add that is because obviously this dyno reads low and obviously these LS6's are god damn monsters, underrated, and respond very good to simple mods. LOve this motor.

Oh - and from my experience dynojets always seem to read a decent amount higher than mustang dynos like the one my tuner uses...

its hard to tell, every dyno is different. I made 380 with 1 7/8 ARH off road pipes and Vararam..also I heard that is a stingy dyno. Whats important is the overall drivability and the car pulling like a freight train..in my case both are great so I am happy overall..dynos are just numbers

I know. I didn't have a stock baseline either. I posted this just for info. I know when I was deciding on headers I looked for a specific setup and posted this so the next guy might find it. I absolutely love the sound it makes with the stock axle back though. I'm not mad about the feel of it or numbers it made either.

Looks about right to me.

My '04 Z made 392/377 with a Vararam, Kooks 1 7/8 headers with no cats and a tune.

Its a great cam, it has just the right amount of lope. It doesnt make the car buck like the bigger cams. It gives it good power as well. Ill keep you updated when i do get to the dyno
