Hi Everyone!

I've been a long time visitor of the forum but haven't actually posted up until now. My long time dream came true last year when I was fortunate enough to purchase my first corvette. It's a 2001 Torch Red Z51 Coupe, and I couldn't be happier!

For now, she is bone stock but I've been bit with the mod bug and that will be changing soon. It starts this weekend with adding a Corsa Xtreme axle back exhaust. Can't wait!

A post such as this wouldn't be complete without some pictures, so without further ado, here are some pics for your enjoyment!

#3: First day out with the 'vette (I purchased it in November last year, hence the leaves).

Thanks to all who have posted in this forum, ultimately helping me make a final decision (without even knowing). I'm looking forward to learning more from everyone and also contributing where I can!

Wow. Good for you. Beautiful car! Enjoy. Were you lucky enough to get the red top too? And when you get your exhaust think about an X-pipe. It helps on excessive popping on deceleration. And that funny grin on your face when you are driving, don't worry about it. It happens to all off us. I don't think it ever goes away.

Beautiful C5 you have.
Never leave home in a Corvette, without a camera.

Welcome...

Make sure you drive that car every chance you get because winter comes fast! Congrats and make sure to keep that Torch Red beauty polished and in showroom condition at all times. Any random conversations with strangers at gas stations or at intersections? Yesterday alone I talked to 3 strangers who approached me about my car. The positive attention is infectious!

Thanks everyone for the positive comments and advice (definitely carrying a camera at all times), it's great to be a part of the group!

jptgs1 - Unfortunately, I did not get the painted red top too. However, the glass top is what I wanted and I'm happy with it so far. I held off on the X-pipe because I plan to eventually do LT headers (also, I'm one of those weirdos who likes the popping noise!). I'm glad to know the grin is normal!

5.3Avalanche - The positive attention is a perk, it's great to see others who share the enthusiasm. Definitely get a lot of looks, which wasn't why I bought the car but helps reaffirm that these are beautiful machines. Also, I love "the wave" to other enthusiasts!

To others - I was originally looking for a black C5, but once I saw the Torch Red in person I was hooked. It's definitely a great color and of course I plan to keep it spotless if I have the time between cruises

Thanks again everyone!

Welcome to the forum. Its always nice to have a clean slate when you are about to make that car really yours.
I personally would question that color though.
