Default A4 Shift Boot Question

While changing my shift boot on my A4 I accidentally broke one of he small clips that hold the PRNDL indicator in place. Does anybody know if I can replace just the plastic part or do I need to replace the entire shifter assembly.

Thanks.

There's a thread on this very subject. I found it and here is the link. Mine is still working so I haven't had to replace it yet. But I'm sure it's just a matter of time.

Can you not try some epoxy and glue the indicator back in place? I have not seen where the indicator is sold separately so either new or used appears to be the way you'll have to go. There is another method that a forum member used to replace the indicator, but it does not allow for it lighting up when it is dark outside. Here's a file that describes what he did.

Thanks for the link, I did not break the shift indicator I broke the one of the small tabs that hold the PRNDL in place. I dont know that the piece is actually called but it the black plastic that surrounds the shifter and has the gray foam on it.
