Is a California Dust Top cover safe for my Corvette which is not used often and parked inside my garage?

As long as it has a soft backing to help protect the paint, it should be OK. I use an indoor cover I got from West Coast Corvettes called I think Intro-Guard - was about $100 on sale and has worked well for me for almost five years. No scratches to the paint.

How often do you drive your car? If it's every 1-2 weeks, you can use a California Car Duster to get rid of the accumulated dust.

Just be sure that's all there is on the car is dust.

Now, for outdoor use, a car cover is preferred. I use one of Eckler's $100 covers.

Thanks guys! Just trying to be careful of the finish. Even in the garage it gets dusty in two days from my other car going on and out!

If it's just 2 days, get a $15 CA Car Duster and be done with it. I also use either detail spray or 3D waterless car wash spray to remove bird poop and splattered bugs, as soon as return home.

3D is great for cleaning a mildly dirty car without having to wash it. I can do the whole car in 15 minutes.

I guess I am a weirdo, but I have long used two king size sheets (not fitted) for a car cover in my garage. They come off and on in about 40 seconds. I fold them and set them aside. The car gets covered EVERY time it is parked in the garage.

I have several sets and when the car gets washed, so do the sheets.

My car would get abrasive dust on it even in my well sealed garage because I live in a rural area.

The sheets do not cover the sides, but very little dust accumulates there. The rear of the car is not covered either, but it accumulates road grit that I wouldn't want a car cover rubbing on.

The 69 is in a bubble while I work on my 2000. It has a felt indoor cover on it inside the bubble. The bubble is to keep some crap from hitting it while it is in the attached garage, which is a mess.

Overkill, but not my car.

Most of the time covers indoors do more harm than good.

I couldn't be more pleased with my Triguard car cover. I use it in the garage all the time, but believe it is very capable of temporary outdoor protection when needed.

Easy to install, easy to remove, stores easily, excellent price. Can't go wrong.
