Default Tail light lens removal?

Anyone ever successfully separate the taillight lens from the body of the housing?

Hey Chas,

Yeah, you need a special tool. It's a hex head screw driver. The one I have for my C5 is a Great Neck TX15. The 15 indicates the size of the tip.

Your question is unclear!
Removing the lens from the rear fascia is a simple matter of using a#15 torq driver to remove the two screw that hold it to the fascia.

Some how , I think you are asking about opening the housing itself. It has been sealed in its manufacturing process. It's not an item that can be opened easily. This is Radioflyer ( a forum vendor ) area of expertise. You can contact him and ask him.

That's the question I think he is asking and I agree that the RadioFlyer is the one to ask. Good luck. Let us know what advice he gives you.

I would think its not much different then opening headlights which I have done several times...lay a cookie sheet in your oven at 225 degrees place a damp towel on top of the cookie sheet...place your light on top of the towel so you don't melt the housing, bake for no more then 5 mins or less, then have some gloves handy, and some plastic tools or flat blade screw drivers, then very carefully pry the two surfaces apart from one another
