I am looking at two options from the dss and they are the 3.5 aluminum with 2 poly couplers or the carbon fiber with no couplers. The aluminum with couplers will end up costing the same as the carbon shaft. Also the carbon requires to drill out the threads on the input/output so this is a permanent modification. Which one would you suggest and what experience do you have with either one? Thanks.

I guess it depends what you plan to do with the car... if you are running on a road course with not a ton of power then the carbon one would probably better suit you but if you plan to make a lot of power and take it to the drag strip (by looking at your avatar that seems more likely) then I would go with the 3.5" with poly couplers... I don't have any personal experience with either but a friend of mine has and this is essentially what he passed on to me... he said the carbon one will end up a bunch of splinters with a high hp car that's drag raced... I just installed the dss poly couplers when I did my clutch recently and have plans to do a tr6060 swap so I might go ahead and go with the upgraded driveshaft at that time

If you plan on the car being on the street at all. Go with the 3.5 with a aluminum in the back, then a poly in the front.

ECS makes one I am thinking still with a ford ujoint like comes in a reg car on both ends, That works really great also.. Robert

Ok great thanks. Pretty much what I was thinking. It is a 750 rwt car that I plan to enjoy on the street, strip and road course.

I will go with the 3.5 dss ds but now I need some help understanding the solid rear poly front or all poly. The gentlemans cruiser that Rick worked on had 2 poly. I understand that the rear has no angular misalignment so a solid in back is preferred but why do some use poly in back?

We have done both and I would recommend going with the CF shaft. You do have to drill out both ends AND machine the billet alignment insert (machine shop needs to do this process) but the rotating assembly is 1/2 the weight. We are DSS dealer by the way.

Great vendor here. Will not get any better deal from any vendor in here. Rick love the rear end in the car buddy. Thinks for the great deal on all the stuff. Robert

Rick, there are two schools of thought in the couplers. 2 ploy or 1 poly front and solid rear. Which would you recommend? Seen a few you worked on had two polys.

Also can you pm your price for the 3.5" aluminum prop shaft with couplers? Thanks.

I'm personally not a fan of solid couplers since the other one will take all of the lateral forces.

PM on the way.
