Default Dang lint !

I love having a convertible but don't you hate after you wash the car and you see lint stuck to the cloth top. I use a large microfiber towel and can't figure where it comes from. Anybody find a cure yet ? Lint brush will take it off but man this is getting old.

No cure unfortunately. During this time of the year we have a problem with cotton blowing around from the Cottonwood trees. It should only last for another couple weeks and it should be over. During this period I throw a blanket over the top while it's sitting in the garage to keep the cotton off the top or from getting in the interior if the top is down. Otherwise I lightly wet a microfiber towel as you do or use a lint removal roller, which are both a pain.

Do you use a sponge or the cloth covered sponges that look like a rag mop. I use one of those on mine and was wondering if the lint could be coming from it. I hate sponges because there are too many crevices for them to hold grit but the rag mop covered sponges can be rinsed out in a bucket of soapy water.

I probably only wash the car with water 1-2 times per year (6 mo driving season in MN) & use a wash mitt when I do. Once/yr during one of the times I wash it, I clean and condition the top with the products from RAGG TOPP.
I think I misunderstood you on my initial response as I don't have a problem with lint after washing the car, but I was referring more to the lint that appears on the black top while just sitting in the garage. I use a California Duster or a Quick Detailer spray to keep the car clean, however the top needs to be kept clean with a damp microfiber towel or the lint roller. Sorry for the misunderstanding!

I often use a shop vac with the brush attachment to remove the lint and cotton. It works well, and I find it much quicker than using a lint roller.

Horse brush works great to clean off the top from dust etc. I also use my master blaster .

Thanks for the tip, I'll have to try that. Lint rollers are not that great.
