Zaino has so many products it's tough to tell where to start. I'm on a pretty slim fixed budget and would like to maybe if possible to get just ONE bottle of the stuff.
My paint isn't perfect on my recently acquired Black '99 coupe... my sled is a driver.. And I'll be doing my first claybar attempt ever..
I already got scratch remover (rubbing compound) and some turtle wax but this Zaino stuff is interesting to say the least. So which bottle ? I would presume the "all-in-one"
There's only one place on the island that carries Zaino products that I know of. I applied one coat of Z5 followed by Z6 then 2 coats of Z2 with a coat of Z6 between each of those as well. I've always used Mothers but wanted something more. This stuff is definitely more expensive than some others but I think it's worth it. I have some Chadwick's triple play on order too, figured I'd maintain my car with that.

I used to use just about everything off the shelf I could find.
Back in 2003 after reading so many folks talk about Zaino I decided to try it on my daily driver RED 2001 Dodge Dakota R/T.
OMG it literally changed the color of my truck after 2 applications in my garage one evening !
Even my wife noticed it the next morning after I pulled it out into the sun.
I have exclusively only used Zaino on my Z06 since it was new, and the shine is a mile deep...
Its hard to make a Silver car really shine and look "wet" .... but mine is about as close to a mirror as it can be.
I've used Meguires Gold Class and NXT 2.0. Neither lasted nearly as long as Zaino. It may make the car shine the same but Zaino will outlast the former two products.

So the shine is the same, but it doesn't last as long? Some people claim the shine is superior with Zaino. A lot of conflicting information. I put a lot of miles on and I like putting a coat of wax on once a month or so. That's why I like a cleaner/polish/wax combination.
Seems like some people are very happy with Zaino and others are not as happy.
I've noticed most people that are 100% happy with it have treated their cars with great care since they were brand new. In this case, it has been used over paint in good condition and the cars stay in great shape because the owners are fanatic about detailing.
It seems like people who aren't as happy have just put it on a car that needs help, or has lost some of its luster. In this case, a proper paint correction beforehand would do a lot of good for the car and would put them on the same playing field of those who started off with brand new cars.
No matter which products you choose, proper washing and drying techniques are more important than anything as good maintenance will keep your paint looking great for a long time.
I will agree that Zaino was way ahead of the game when they came out with their products back in my Fbody days. I've since moved onto other products, but I've never been disappointed with the Zaino system. With that said, once I went to machine polishing, I've never looked back

I have heard that some waxes will shine better than Zaino; however, my personal experience has not netted those results with the waxes I've used (Meguires Gold, NXT 2.0, Zymol). I'm not going to lie. It may very well be my application of those products. I did use Liquid Glass back in the day and I will say I preferred that over the other waxes I've used.
Regardless of shine though Zaino's protection has outlasted all of the other waxes I've used and it is much easier to apply/remove.
I'm not knocking anyones choice in product to use but for me Zaino is all I will use.

Ive talked with Sal on the phone many times in the early years. His products and his philosophy ( early on and the reason he has never put it on automotive shelves in retail stores is his products, ( at least early on ) were not for the guy with the crappy finish , but for guy who keep their car nice and want to increase its wet look with a 99.9 % optically clear space aged product. I don't know if over the years he has developed products for abused car finishes. But I know he was emphatic back in 1999 when I first stated talking to him. My Son lives in New England, ( harsh winters. ) I got him to use Zaino. I was just up there for a wedding, and His car ( a daily driver ) looked so wet I thought he had just Zaino'd it. When I asked him, he said he hadn't Zaino'd it in a year. The Problem with waxes is that most use a Carnauba based wax.. Carnauba breaks down at 110 F. Some cars (especially black cars ) can reach a surface temp of 140 F on a hot day in direct sun. The idea here is to have the clear coat remain clear, and not yellow because of UV rays and increased surface temps.
Some people argue that Zaino doesn't make a wax... ( well thank God for that ) because the protection found in the Zaino I use, protects to a much higher degree than any wax on the market. The protection found in wax is an organic product ( something that breaks down easily ( be it a protein or a vegetable product) Zaino is a non organic polymer, not effected by UV rays, or thermal break down. You can apply Zaino in the Nevada desert at high Noon with ambient temps in the 120F range and surface temps on the car at 160 ,, apply it in direct sun, remove it easily and protect longer than any product I know. Zaino keep your clear coat from turning yellow. ( that's the difference in a muddy looking finish and one that is 99% optically clear. much like the way you car finish looks when you apply a stream of water to it.
Sal makes the best protection ( Longest lasting ) and most amazing surface clarity of any product I've ever used.
Ask me if I like it?
BTW I haven't talked wit Sal Zaino in ten years.. I have no affiliation with him or his products. I have an analytical mind , and if it wasn't all that I say it is, I would not recommend it. But like anything there is a right way and a wrong way to apply it. From an economical point of view, I can get 9 to 10 complete car applications out of one 8 oz. bottle.
The other Zaino products I use are equally as effective. I really don't care what others use , but those looking to keep their car nice, and not looking to recover a poorly maintained finish can benefit by using a Zaino product.

Toque
That may be the best looking Z06 I've ever seen Magnificent

Nothing shines better than caranuba wax. The problem is that it doesn't last very long, especially in the heat. It's good for a little extra pop applied before a show, but not good to actually protect a car, especially a DD. The synthetic stuff might not give quite the same pop as fresh caranuba, but the protection is long lasting. In my opinion, it's a great tradeoff to go for the one that offers long lasting protection.
Some of the newer stuff on the market, such as Modesta, cquarts, etc., lasts for two years, sometimes even more.

Carnauba is 93 % optically clear and has little UV protection compared too a non organic, causing the clear coat to yellow. Carnauba in it natural state is yellow. Carnauba car wax products are not 100% carnauba. They use other additives to break down the Hard as nails wax into a useable paste, the formula has many 28 letter additives to allow the wax to be applied.
