Default What Size Wheels?

What size wheels are you folks getting to replace the stock Z06 wheels?

Is it 2 17s for the front and 2 18s for the back like stock?

How about 4 18 inchers?

My plan is to replace the stock wheels with the chromeskis.

Where's the best place to buy them? I want an outright purchase and plan to keep the original wheels for posterity.

Thanks boys & girls.

Some will buy stock size chrome repro's so they can retain their good tires. Some trade in rims... and some do not. 18's all the way around with the car slightly lowered looks bad azz IMO. We carry the "chromeskis" in stock most of the time... unless you catch us at the end of a sale. Give Mike a call tomorrow to see what we have. Our chrome carries a 3 year warranty and a lifetime on the structure... :)

Also, last I checked we had a chrome set of GM Z06 rims... Mike will know if we still have them...

Bill,

I ordered a set of repro chromies from you guys last week. Went with the OEM Z06 sizes since my original tires only have 3500 miles on them, plus I like the F1 tires. :D

Do you guys have any load test data on those repro chromies? I've heard that some of the repro wheels have a higher load capacity than the OEM wheels (both were tested apparently by someone). Supposedly, these US repros only weigh about 2~3 lbs max more than the OEM wheels. It seems alot of the vendors want to keep this info secret for some reason, but IMO its better to advertise the specs.

From what I understand there is only one place in the whole US (in CA) that makes repro Z06 wheels. Is that true?

Thanks for your business. We appreciate it!!! And yes... you cannot go wrong with the Supercar's. They are an awesome tire... and surprisingly quiet given the competition. Let me know if you got a hat;).

As far as specs we don't have anything to hide. I don't have any litature in hand right now but if we have it readily available I'm sure Mike could dig it up for you. Nate told me there is only a 3-4lb difference between a chrome GM rim and a chrome repro. If we still have the GM chrome rims in stock I would be happy to weigh the GM and the repro and give you an actual weight difference. The GM Z06 rims have a slightly, and I do mean slightly thinner "spoke" (for lack of a better word) design. Perhaps thats why they weigh a little less.

From what I understand there is only one place in the whole US (in CA) that makes repro Z06 wheels. Is that true?
This one I do not know the answer to... and I also do not know if Z06 replica rims are produced off shore either or cross border. My bet is they are. As far as our wheels are concerned I just cannot disucss it... Calling Nate or Mike would be your best bet if you really want to know.

Here are some 20's rear, and 19's front-Thanks to Raymond (Seller) / (Forum Member) and my brother in law (George) who is a part time runner also, George drove down to CA to pick and and deliver these fine specimens. I have to say Raymond, I think you are extremely honest, and I am still looking for the slight clear coat imperfection that shows up in your photographs but I cannot see it as you said it is difficult to see. The wheels were even better than I could have imagined. At about 3:00 this morning LV time I started the very careful and methodical approach of putting them on. I took some pictures but it is very dark at 4:00 in the morning. I will shoot some more later when I wash the beast and there is more light. I am considering selling my factory rims and tires, immaculate condition with 3,000 miles and I don't see any visible wear. What is a fair price to ask for them, any suggestions? 2 more hours I will have been up for 24 hours, mods make me sleepless.
