Looks like there is room for 3 1/2" of the peel and stick Autozone lighting behind the handle and you can run the wire where the handle rod goes into the door.
I may try this out with the LEDs and batteries I have lying around to see how it looks then wire it in through the door with green LEDS hooked to the interior light circuit.

I don't think my car is overdone or gaudy compared to some of the vehicles I've seen here in interior and under the hood mods threads.
I never said overdone or gaudy, just not cohesive in theme IMO. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so if you like all the pretty colors, good for you. At least you are trying something new and like you said they are inexpensive and easy to work with if you change your mind.

Guess I'm an "older guy" at 36 then...
And I'm a young 55 year old "Yute"
I'm not after a theme per se just a nice looking car.
I like stainless steel and chrome with some carbon fiber thrown in.
My business partner's new twin turbo Mercedes has stainless steel and carbon fiber in the interior.
My car has a lot of little details besides the hood, skirts and spoilers I did.
I used to be a bodyman and paint cars and I have my own private lift.
Silver is a boring color next to grey pavement so I added the stripes, then the red and blue detail finish stripes.
Right now the 1/4" red and blue stripes are tape but I will be painting them on soon.
I also had the SS hood and stripes on my 97 Camaro which is similar to
the striping on the reworked RK Sport Hood.

Neon lighting has been around longer than just your generation.
Most guys who are under 40 don't like neon either.

I was in my heyday at the prime of the Fast & Furious era. Even had a Turbo Eclipse with lots of show and go. Entered it into plenty of Hot Import Nights, Import Revolution, and other smaller events. You want to see an over-use of neon, just look at that era. Like someone else said it has been around much longer than this generation. Though it was part of my youth, I still don't care for it.
