I am curious as to how many Vette Owners that live in a state requiring a front License Plate to be mounted actually mount it?
Also if you mount it is there a way to make a front mounting kit look nice ?
I don't thankfully but it's like my decision on darker tint. I have lived here for 5 years never been bothered locally for tint. So I would say were you drive most do they care? And if they do what are the fines? Then figure is it worth it to you.

I've always displayed my front license plate - have it in the center of the front fascia where the factory provided a place for it. I did have the factory license plate surround painted body color so that makes it look a lot better. Still, I wish Missouri would go with only a rear plate instead of both front and back.

I got pulled over last weekend for not displaying my front plate, had the cover over it, Cop said he won't give me a $75. ticket if I took the cover off in front of him. My friend just happen to have a screwdriver in his z06. I guess I'll have to live with the front plate from now on.

Hey you never never know when someone might drive away from a crime backwards! Lol. Imagine the money the state would save. I'm sure they wouldn't pass it on to the taxpayer though!

I have the factory surround also and I think they look quite nice when they are body color. I don't understand it, but this does seem to be a matter of serious contention for some here on the forum. Also, as I sprung for personalized plates, I kinda like having one on the front as well.

Colorado requires, but I have been running without it for a couple of years. I have the plate and surround in the trunk and will install if (I mean when) I am stopped. There was an attempt a couple of years ago to do away with the front plate law, but alas it failed.
I use the show n go remote plate holder. I don't have a picture with plate up but if you look on passenger side front you can see holder in down position.

Not yet , figured I just say was at cruise night and forgot to put plate up and hopefully the officer would see that at least I made attempt to have plate on car .
I live in California which requires a front plate. I owned a 1974 corvette for 11 years, I never had a front plate on it and I never had problem. I now own a 2004 corvette I've had for 2 years. It doesn't have a front plate and as before I've had no problem.

Yep! with WarrenM
Keep the front tag under the cover. SO if the cops get frisky I pull the cover.
Sorry officer, just forgot to take off the cover after the car show......
I live in Illinois and it is a two plate state. I purchased the factory surround kit and painted it body color. I think it looks good with the kit, without the kit it looks like something is missing.
IL cops must love Corvettes. Drove my car frequently, and have had police do nothing more than compliment me on the car. Never said a word about the missing front plate.
