Default ash tray replacement

Just got hold of a 1999 c5 and love it. Only issue is there is a hole where the ash tray is meant to go. Is this the part I need:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/290910576903...84.m1423.l2649

will I need an additional door for the front and a cigarette lighter? Thanks.

Thanks, will do. Could someone just confirm if the assembly is seperate parts that are required: is the ash tray, door & cigar lighter port seperate items?

According to that diagram, you will need parts 3, 4, and 5.

The ash tray fits into the plastic box which holds the lighter and element and has the door. So yes. they are separate. The ashtray has a lid and it closes when the "bigger" lid attached to the whole box is closed. I don't see a part number for the "bigger" or console lid. That covers up everything.

Thanks, so looking at this diagram, I'll need parts 3, 4 & 5. What part in this diagram relates to the main door and the box it all sits in? Thanks.

I don't know how to post it, but fleabay has a c5 "ash tray bin" for $29.00 used. That is what you need if it's not there. That's what the ash tray and lighter go into. Do you have this piece already?

No I don't have that piece. I have nothing in the hole you can see into the wires so I need all of that. As I'm from New Zealand It's hard to find parts locally. I am also having trouble finding all the parts I need on ebay. Ican find the ash tray, but not the bin, cigarette port and front door.

Sounds to me that you will need a whole new bezel #1 if yours is cut out and you can see wires.

The lighter and ash tray mount in the bezel and the big door is part of the bezel.

Well that sucks, and the bezel is very expencive. I might just put a piece of plastic over it to cover the gap. Anyone know of any mods that I could do to cover the gap? Or should I just spend the money on the whole assembly?

I suppose posting a picture of your console is out of the question...might clear up some of the confusion.

Spoke to Marc at Vettenuts and he said if the whole inside is cut out I will need to replace the whole bezel. Can someone let me know if there is a cheaper alternative. Here is a pic for clarification:

You drive a Corvette an American Icon and you want to get by cheap? Just keep an eye on eBay and the for sale section. Don't it.
